You need a complete tune up and maybe fresh gas. You say uit starts, I would say you dont have a starter problem, rather id say you have a startING problem. You probably have dirty or clogged carb jets and your timeing may be off too.

Left key on for few days battery dead I jumped it off and runs very rough when give it gas gauges go out and backfires

Hi Did you leave the jumper battery hooked up while it was running? It sounds like the dead battery may need to be replaced. Jump it again and leave the jumper battery hooked up and then see if it runs ok. If it does run good you will need to replace the battery. I hope this helps. Rod

Bike lost all power while riding. Lights, guages, and everything else. Stayed operational for a little while, then started backfiring very bad, and finally left me on the side of the road. The battery...

it is most lightly the stator or voltage regulator in your charging system not charging your battery while running, thus runs the battery dead. If your battery is completely drained, which usually is the sign when you have no lights and backfires and the battery has no juice left to support the spark plugs, and finally gives up, and thus won't take a jump. This is a common problem. Battery needs to go on a charger and fully charged before you can conduct any electrical output test from the stator or voltage regulator. Just happened to me again this week. Hope this helps.

On the 1400 intruder the engine dies on idling when I turn the lights on

sounds like you have a charging system problem. your main computer requires a certain amount of voltage to keep the bike running. once you turn on the lights, that takes away some of the voltage going to the computer. either you battery is going bad, replace if old, or your charging system is not working properly. if i recall corretly the computer requires a minimum of 10.5 volts to run the bike.

New starter new battery still wont start last

Very likely the new battery is defective - it happens. If you have a know good new battery, then also connect a jumper from the battery negative to the block just to be sure its not a defective or loose ground cable.

Bike stalls out in neutral and wont start back up while riding

It sounds like the battery may be bad in spite of Auto-Zone's pronouncement. The connectors to the battery may be bad enough to make a poor connection to the battery posts. Is the battery water level up to the line in each cell?
Re-jet one step bigger as the baffle removal will make it run lean.

Is there a way to charge a battery on a 1999 suzuki 800 without having to remove the battery.

Anything is possible, but there is no GOOD way. Take the time to remove it.
