Motorcycles and cars are designed so you can't over rev the engines in high gear. Air resistance will keep your speed low enough so the engine can't over rev. However, in a lower gear, you CAN over rev. If you don't have a tachometer on the bike, read your owners manual for suggested top speed in each gear. Or do a Google search for your bike and and "speed" and "gear".

When the truck is in nutral or in gear the moter is reving at high rpms but does not move, what might be the problem

Well, if the transmission is going into gear and the motor revs and the vehicle doesn't move, I would have to think there is a problem with the transmission. Check your fluid level, if it is where it should be I would suggest seeking the help of a professional.

My wife was mowing with our Husqvarna ride on CTH2038 and it started reving really fast so she disengaged the deck and ramp the throttle back to min but it kept reving so she shut it down with the key

Best thing I can recommend is to carry it to a trusted repair shop for them check it out for you.

Sound like governor control came loose or the governor self destructed. Without the age of the mower don't if the warranty will cover the repairs but the engine will need at least repaired if not replaced.

time for a trans rebuild.
Best bet is to get it to a shop as it just may be something easy, but as a chevy mechanic, I honestly HATE every GM transmission.

Tell your mechanic to check for damage radiator trans cooler, sometimes the coil cracks allowing transmission fluid mix with coolant, and coolant with transmission fluid creating lots of present and future problems.

It sounds like your describing the air pump for the ride control system. You may have a bad leveling sensor causing the pump to run continuously

2003 Nissan Maxima reving noise

no, its not the transmisshion,,,, its the cluch release bearing worn out,
every time you press on the cluch it screems or chaters, yes?
you just need to fit a new cluch, as its realy not worth the effort in just replacing the bearing only to have the rest of the cluch go in 6 months
that would be mad ness and pricy
