Question about 2002 kawasaki KLX 300 R
1987 kawasaki 300 4x2 bayou
When you try to drive the drive shaft is slipping. Wondering where to start trying to find the problem? Are there bearings in there that go or spindles that get stripped?
Get someone to help--set the brakes and try to drive it. The other person needs to watch what is turning. If it turns into the differential, but nothing happens coming out on either side, then drain the oil out of, and open the cover on the differential. Look at the drive pinion gear (you can run this for a short time without lubrication), is it turning? That will turn the ring gear which turns the differential unit. If one axle turns, but the other side doesn't, look for a broken axle on the side that turns. If the input pinion gear doesn't turn, look for a broken pinion shaft. Hope this helps!
