SOURCE: Speedo failure on my Burgman 400 (2000)

I had the same problem, the speedo is magnetic and it is inside the front wheel bearing, usualy when dirt goes in it brakes it so
I had to replace the magneto ring and it worked perfect. I went to a private suzuki parts provider and he ordered it for me for £15.00
replaced it myself, just take the wheel out and remove the old ring, clean, then put the new one.

but it could be that your speedo cable is bad, or dashboard is bad

For the K8

The fuse box is under the cover just below the instrument panel on the left hand side. So you need to yank that off first its retained by 4 clip n fit rubber buttons. do side by side.

SOURCE: how to replace brake light bulb on burgman 400

On the earlier models there are two self tapping screws with x heads on the underside lip of the rear section you undo these and the rear panel lifts up and out on 2 plastic hooks built into the panel. (it feels like its not going to come off at times) you can then get to the bulbs I would replace both at the same time as the other one will go in a short time as the odds are they were fitted at the same time in the first place.

SOURCE: I have a 2003 suzuki

Yes, it can be changed - hold the RESET button (bottom right) pressed for 5 seconds. The procedure is mentioned in the Owner's Manual, at page 11. But this works only if the scooter is a model made for UK or South Africa, otherwise there is a single speed indicator setting and to change it a new firmware will have to be loaded, by a dealer.

How do i know if my 2006 suzuki burgman 650 has a abs breaking system

Hi, Cindy you could always call Suzuki or look for an electrical wire going down a front brake line to a sensor near the calipers if it has one then you have ABS or you could go driving down the road at 30 mph and stand on the rear brake pedal if the rear wheel locks up you do not have ABS for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need for viewing or printing please click on the blue links below. Speedometer on 1999 maxima wrong, faster you go the farther off. approx. 20 mph faster at 60 mph. replaced vss.

do you have aftermarket wheel on the car?? bigger wheels can cause speed signal failure resulting in speedo acting up. different size tires will have different circumference causing speedo issues.

1986 Nissan 720 4x4 pickup truck. Speedometer shows faster speed then going (ie driving 10 mph; speedo shows 60 mph.

Either the gauge is bad, the cable is kinked or the speedometer connector is bad...at the tranny.

I install a new speedsensor but now my speed tachometer its not sinchronize. if am going about 30 mph my tachometer its in 60 mph

Let's get specific... ok?... Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)... could also be a defective micomp in your cluster. Here's the best solution... have it 'diagnosed' by a professional.. this way you'll know EXACTLY what the problem is and the PRICE of repair... maybe you'll fix it yourself... ya think?

The speedo is electronic and has failed, you will need to have it repaired by an authorized GM repair shop that does GM electronics, this is not the dealer, they will send it out and charge 2X, send it out for repair yourself, bypass the dealer.
