BIKE NUETRALS I am going down the road and it seem to pop out of gear. The bike revs high I let off and it goes back into gear. The last time I know I was in 6th gear, the other times I am not sure I was in 6th gear. This happens very fast

I have a honda rancher 420 ES 4x4 with a jumping transmition

Oh Dude, this isn't an easy fix. It sounds like your shift pawls could be bent, it also could be that the shift shaft that the pawls slide on is bent, worst case, there is some transmission gear engagement teeth that are damaged.

Riding along the road engine slowly came to a stop. wouldn't start again flat battery RAC man charged the battery bike started got a mile or so down the road we did this three time got home with out it...

I think you could have an intermitant open circuit inside your battery. One of the links joining the cells is loose and makes contact sometimes and not other times. Replacing the battery could fix the problem. There appears to be notthing amiss in your charging system.

Dose the engine have a rev limiter fitted when road testing bike popping back through exhaust on over run / when taken to high rev holding back on road test

Most engines with cdi boxes have rev limiters. Popping or backfiring could also be caused by low back pressure (aftermarket muffler) and most commonly bad exhaust gaskets in the head.

I would say that your bike may be running a little lean. I usually replace the jets on all my bikes as soon as I get them as the emissions requirements mandate that the manufacturers pass stringent emissions tests prior to the dealer selling them. Some bikes wont even idle or run, especially off road bikes from places like California. and in these cases you must re jet it is a must! I even throw away or drill larger holes into my air cleaner cover.

Good Luck!
