Soak it in WD 40. If possible make a pool of the WD40 and let it soak for 24 hours. Gently try and move it but you have to be patient dont force it early if it is really siezed. You could apply some gentle heat with a hot air gun but if the carbi is still assembled remember you have plastic parts inside, no more than 70 degrees C. If this fails take the unit apart and you may be able to apply some pressure from the underside or use compressed air but be carefull it doesnt shoot out and become lost forever.

How Do I change a choke cable

Before you remove the cable, zip tie the new one to the old one the full length of the cable, this will ensure the cable is routed correctly. If your bike has Mikuni carburration then this means that the end of the cable will have to be removed fromits plunger. This is done by unscrewing the black plastic 10mm nut at the carb and carefully unhook the cable end from the plunger, taking care not to lose the small cable spring. The leverend is self explanatory and very simple.

The problems with a plunger style choke happen when the rubber on the bottom becomes deformed and does not seal or the spring does not push the plunger down hard enough, or the cap breaks so the plunger is not pushed down hard enough. If you put your finger over the hole and the bike runs properly your bike is running on choke. You have to block the hole deep inside the carb to shut off the choke. I assume the original problem was that the bike would not idle .If this is the case, take the carb apart remove the slow jet and clean the jet and the carb body out so fuel will flow at idle. This should fix your no idle problem.

The stock harley choke plunger will not work on a Mikuni carb! It causes the carb to run rich all the time! You can go to a GOOD Indy in your area and order the Mikuni plunger. It is listed in the DRAG book
