Question about 2007 Suzuki GSX-R 1000

1 Answer

My gsxr 1000 is running at 5000 rpm's and it wll not come down

I filled up the gas tank to the top. came home an shut my bike off. i came back about an hour later to start my bike up again and the idol was up to about 4500-5000 rpms. i am thnking i might have put to much gas in it. i tried forcing the hole $10.00 into my gas tank. i dont why this would matter but ever since then i went to the gas station it seems to have this problem.

Sounds like somthing is wrong with the throttle and its just a fluke with the gas. try removing the ground off the battery or postive which ever you can get off let bike sit for half an hour disconnectted reconnect and see if it still does this if it does bring it to a dealer as it should be covered under warrenty

Why does bike stall while riding in hot weather or in cooler weather after riding for an hour or so?

Hi, Christina and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a "LOAD" test if necessary.
2. Failed alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Failed main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Failed system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Failed ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
7. Failed CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.
9. Fuel tank empty.
10. Fuel tank contaminated with ethanol sludge.
11. Water or dirt in the fuel system, or clogged filter.
12. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
13. Faulty fuel pump.
14. Faulty pressure regulator.
15. Faulty or clogged fuel injectors.

I would check the Fuel filter on the fuel pump inside the fuel tank, you will need to remove the tank so run the fuel low as it will need to be inverted to get at the pump. Be very careful with the tank seal, you will need to reuse it unless you purchased a new one. Refill the tank with good quality fuel and test

02 GSXR Limits to 4800rpm, drops to idle, when warm not cold.

If you have the stock computer replace the power commander with the stock computer then see if the problem still remains. If it goes you can be sure the problem lies within your commander and it will need to be remapped or replaced...Good luck

Most sports bikes are limited to 300km/h by the manufacturers in an effort to be responsible. Actually the ? was about the 1000 not "most sport bikes". The Suzuki gsxr1000 for 2007 is rev limited to 184 mph. U do the math to figure out kph but in the U.S. who cares about the metric numbers.

Oil in water

ok why are you using water should be using coolant there is allways coolant in the block radiator and header tank the pump circulates the coolant around the block and back into the radiator to be cooled if the radiator is still leaking you shoul repair with rad weld dont leave it keep the haeder tank topped up check radiator and hader tank regularly

000 rpm and above. I thought maybe bad gas(filled up before I noticed) so I went home drained my tank and then filled up from a different station. Took it out to test and the same thing happens. It seems to me that it is getting to much fuel or something. If you hold the throttle wide open it will load up and die. Runs normal under 6000 rpm's. I checked every electrical connector on the bike and it's still screwed up. I guess I have to take it to the dealer hopefully I'll get it back before winter arrives in 2 months. Anyone have any ideas?Maybe someone put a spud up yer exhaust pipe -] Seriously though, could be the fuel pump on it's way out? Does it do it an all of the three maps?
