1994 UK GSX750F. Carbs professionally overhauled

1994 UK GSX750F. 15000 miles. Carbs professionally overhauled cleaned and balanced. Dynoed to run with aftermarket muzzy can. New plugs and air filter about 500 miles ago. Ran fine for about a 500 miles then stopped at lights and it started to run lumpy like it was on 3 cylinders. Real smell of fuel and no leaks. Over 6000 revs it was fine. I checked all carb throttle butterflys and they are not stuck. I know it runs a little rich because of the exhaust but when it started to play up it used at 1/4 tank for 12 miles. I am guessing it is flooding but havent checked if the floats are free. Can it suddenly run rich or is it likely to be a stuck float ?

Chances are there is a bit of condensation in the float bowls. Just remove the drain plug on the bottom edge of each bowl then put them right back in. Any water in the bowls will drain out along with whatever gas was in the bowl. Stick a fresh set of spark plugs in the bike and see what you have then. Even if I'm wrong, you haven't spent much money. The carbs should not need a true "rebuild". Cleaning and balancing the carbs should be all that's needed if condensation isn't the problem. It sounds to me that the shop is needing some extra cash for the upcoming holidays. Check with a different dealer???

It still sounds like it still running rich. If it doesn't have any performance mods like aftermarket exhaust it wont like the stage 3 kit. The stage 3 kit should be install if it has high performance exhaust and k&n pods instead of an airbox and filter. Or the floats may be stuck or improperly adjusted.

Carbed engine stops dead after 10-20 seconds of running.

If it was the ignitor unit (I assume you mean the ECU) it wouldn't start at all.
Did you check the fuel pump and it's relay? If the bike was garaged for 2 years you should recalibrate your carbs. If there was gas in them all that long they need to be cleaned.

It wont stay running in stalls out from time to time

Change the fuel filter, clean the carb jets again, and replace the air filter. This should take care of it but sometimes when they sit for awhile, you will need to clean the carbs numerous time as the gunk in the tank continues to wash down into the carbs.
