Check for a restricted or plugged exhaust system, you could have a catalytic converter going bad... If you have no misfires and all ignition components seem to be in good condition then I would suspect maybe a issue with the exhaust system...

Have ranger 8 225 w/onan engine. Will not run at low rpm stutters but runs in fast idle.

Do you have check engine light, what is the code if you do. My brother had a 2000 ranger and the codes helped me fix it.

My 2002 buick rendezvous will not go above 4000 rpm's. The engine loses power and feels like it is misfiring.

I would check into replacing a fuel pressure regulator its easy to install and it usually under 10 bucks.

2002 impala 3.8L 180,000kms. Having problems with car hesitating on acceleration(not all the time). Had maf sensor & idle air control sensor replaced recently. Fuel filter, air filter, new plugs &...

it is possibly the throttle position sensor(tps) malfunctioning. basically the computer or "brain" of the car thinks the throttle is in a different position than it really is and automatically makes adjustments to fuel, air ect.... based on these false readings from the sensor thus causing the engine to react a little different when you expect to have power.

1994 ranger 2.3 lacks power and has a miss. put new plugs and wires. plus a new mass air flow sensor. no check engine light on

I would check for a vacuum leak, also check the air filter and replace the fuel filter, if it hasn't been done.

01 ford ranger 4x4 4.0V6-- rough idle like it wants to cut off. loses power or studders under acceleration. struggles to get up to 55 or 60

I agree. Try replacing the spark plugs, install new spark plug wires, change the air filter, change the fuel filter, and test the battery and alternator. Run a bottle of fuel system cleaner and water remover through it. To replace the spark plugs you'll most likely have to go through the wheel wells cause of their hard accessibility from the top. The fuel filter is located on the inside of the frame on the driver's side. Hope this helps. God bless
