Question about Hyosung GF 125 Motorcycles

1 Answer

I was wondering if my emergency run stop switch has broken on my motorcycle. could this be why my spark plug wont spark. and could i just unconext it to make my engine run again .the reson i think it could be this is because when i bought the bike it was running ok .and i was told to get use to buting the emergancy switch on stop to make it harder for some one to steal my bike i have also used it a few times to turn my engine off but when i had my c.b.t test he told me not to use it for that as they are like fragile so could this be why all of a sudden my bike wont start

This switch kills the ignition system so yes that is why u have no spark, go to radio shack and buy a universal rocker switch that will work.

I bought a 4stroke chineese sports bike. was running just fine. then one night it just stopped running replaced stator starter cdi coil spark plug battery and still not getting any spark. help please

Hi, Mike and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting/leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

Check for faulty spark plug, fouled spark plug, loose or disconnected wires, broken or shorted spark plug wires, faulty ignition pulse generator, faulty ignition coil, faulty engine stop switch, faulty ignition control module or some others.

Work through these from the start

I have changed the spark plug and coil and it looks as though there is no electric getting to the spark plug. the bike doesnt run. i was wondering if anyone could help0

hi try putting power direct to the coil and turn the engine over and see if theres a spark. you may have a faulty ignition or stop switch and is not sending power to the coil when ignition is on. pete

Bike wont kick over

do u have any spark at the spark plug. When the kill switch is faulty it won't give any spark try disconnecting. sometimes this kill switch grounds itself or the contacts stay closed. For it to have sparks contacts should be opened. This kill switch grounds the coil so the engine stops running
