Get a test light and stick the probe in the connector on the bike and clip the other end to a good ground. Turn on the key and run the turn signals, brake light and running light. Move the probe from hole to hole until you find the turn signal flash, the brake light and the running light. Obviously, the turn signals will flash, the brake light will go on and off when you hit the pedal, and the running light will stay on constantly. the three wires on the brake light are ground, brake and running light. Should be a simple matter to figure out which wires go where from here. If you are using digital lights, i.e. LED lights, the current only flows one way. As an example, if you hook up the turn signals and they don't work, reverse the wires.

Hi, Derrill you need to check the ignition switch for continuity in all positions with a test light or multimeter the accessory circuit energizes the speedometer backlight, rear tail light, brake light, and horn only if none of these components are working in the accessory switch position check the accessory fuse. My Harley 2005 fatboy brake light and signals stopped working checked the fuses could it be the ignition switch

Hi, Anonymous the brake light could be a faulty tail light bulb or brake light switch or a wiring issue, the turn signals could be a turn signal module or rear fender tail light wiring harness connector or damaged harness under the fender from the rear wheel rubbing for this scenario you will need a service/owners manual that has a wiring diagram if you can not find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Harley, despair not, for a mere $10 you can download another one. 2007 HARLEY SOFT TAIL DELUX I AM BLOWING THE FUSE FOR THE TURN SIGNALS AND TAIL LIGHTS

Hi Michael, If you did any with wiring just before all this started go back to that first and check with a test lite for a grounded power wire that is bare, broke or pinched. If not check underneath the fender or remove the fender to see if rear wheel has rubbed any wires there. You can isolate sections by disconecting the electrical plugs in the turn signal and tailite circuit. Good luck

My tail lights are out on my 2008 HD Softail Night Train. The blinkers work. The front lights all work. The brake lights work. Its just both the rear tail lights are out. What should i do?

Hi Collegekid62, always check the bulbs first for broken filaments. Then check the connection at the rear fender wiring harness, inspect for corroded, broken or loose pins. Use a dab of dielectric grease and repair as necessary. Check your brake relay if you have one , some models rear turn signals were single filament bulbs only, no running light.
