2007 Bonneville T100 in for cam cover gasket replacement at 3700 miles; under warranty. Leaking again at 4800 miles. This one is on me. Minimal leaking if I stay below 4,000 rpm. HP and torque are realized above this rpm and would like to use the power. Though not indicated in repair manual do I need to use a gasket sealant.

I have seen in the shop some porous housing causing oil leaks. At the same time, I'm suspecting some oil leak coming from one of the axle. If the axle came out just a little bit, this could cause a major leak or, it could be simple as the axle seal giving up.

I hope that the shop is your vehicle sitting in is a Hyundai dealer. As a 2007 year model, this should be warrantable service and Hyundai should cover the repair expenses. Hope you have not done any recent repairs to the transmission that might cause oil leaks.
Try this one, Came out of where, the drain plug? You better have the car towed to a Hyundai dealer, the car is under warranty. If you are doing this service yourself...you might need to start praying. The fluid is to be changed every 30 K, sounds like you are late in doing that service. I'd check the plug and see if you put it back on, I've seen people do that before or forget to tighten it.

2008 cadillac throwing p0008 code what does this mean

Hello, this code indicates a problem with the cam timing. in most cases the timing chain is the problem. the engine control module can no longer adjust cam timing to the proper spec while running. this normally requires the timing chain to be replaced. this is covered under the 5 year 100,000 mile warranty thru GM

Oil is leaking into the gasket, causing one of the spark plugs to misfire. I have replaced the spark plugs, but fuel lines over the gasket prevent me from replacing it. How do I go about fixing this? ...

This is caused by a defective cylinder head cam cover gasket, this allows oil to leak into and fill the well the spark plug is in and short out the cylinder, replace the cam cover gasket.

2000 3.3 auto grand voyager. got a major coolant leak, to the extent that you can see it weep. Been to Chrysler garage, who said a little is coming from water pump (£275 to replace), but most is...

It must be leaking from under the valve cover. The time for rear valve cover gasket replacement is 2.5hrs and 3hrs for both front and rear, I would replace both at the same time and the gasket. Its advisable to get it done by technician if the coolant is leaking as the coolant is leaking from under the valve cover. Its $300 for parts and services (timing gasket $40, valve cover gasket $140, oil pan gasket set $70, and coolant flush for $50) . ''the timing cover is leaking coolant''--engines water pump is behind the cover and it is failing-. as far as parts and labor it sounds reasonable and it all sounds pretty typical for your vehicle. But still get it confirmed by any other tech before getting it repaired. To confirm the estimate cost. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

2006 Triumph Bonneville T100 leaky head gasket

G'Day,
For the price you have been quoted, it may be that it just requires to be re-torqued to pull up the leak. Or even just a resealing of the cam/valve gear covers. Changing the head gasket would be somewhat more work/expense. This is a fairly easy task to accomplish if you have some spanner experience, a torque pattern to follow, and the tools to do it. If you have no tools, then it could cost you $200 for a cheap torque wrench, socket set, other tools you will need.
Any time you start tearing down a motorcycle, good idea to go get yourself should get yourself a workshop manual(click here for a Haynes $42.95)to start. This is where you can get knowledge on how to strip down the bike to the point you can do it, and also correct sequence / procedure for torquing the head to spec. You would need to pull the tank, seat, and so on, good experience if you wanna get your fingers dirty. Get into it if you are game.

Because the wheels are alloy and covered in a clear coat, the marks you see are corrosion creeping up under the clear coating.I owned a powder coating plant and we coated wheels.Bikes and cars.Whether these are powdercoated or not,the problem is a small void in the coating.Usually on a sharp edge.Corrosion gets in and starts creeping and there is not a lot you can do if the warrenty is void. You also see it in side cover plates on a lot of bikes. It is minor and will not affect the bike accept for cosmetic looks.I would pursue the warrenty because it is a known and ongoing problem.Hope this helps

Bonneville T100 Gear Change

Do check if not drain and refill the gear box, but check with your dealer that it will not affect your warranty. a little self help may prevent time consuming and inconvenient repairs at this stage, but remember gears are clunky and come in for a lot of abuse, reliable as they are.

Clean the throttle body- if you remove it you will need to replace the throttle body gasket when you put it back on. If its still under warranty 3yr/36,000 miles it may be covered under warranty due to a TSB.
