Hi, you can usually buy a stereo wiring harness that plugs right into your car and they are color coded to match the standard aftermarket wire radio harness, all you do is take the plug from your new stereo and match the wires with the adapter, just connect the matching wire colors. it's super easy and well worth the $15-20, and you don't have to cut up your factory harness.
good luck!
Before removing the stereo you need to ensure that the battery's grounding cable is disconnected from the negative lead. Most BMW models have the battery housed under the hood while others (a relative few) store the battery on the left side of the vehicle in the trunk. Use a 10 mm wrench to loosen the bolt holding the clamp of the grounding cable around the negative lead.
Use a trim pry tool to remove the vent housing above the stereo. The vents can be removed to allow access to the stereo or removed completely. Once the perimeter of the vent housing is loose from the dash, you can feed the wiring that connects to the hazard light button through the front of the vents. With the hazard switch pushed forward, simply disconnect the power supply to completely free the vent assembly.
The climate control group at the bottom of the stereo also needs to be removed to access the stereo. The climate control housing can be removed by hand. Grab the climate control at the bottom and the top. Pry from the bottom and remove. The climate controls do not need to be removed completely. When it is free from the dash there will be enough slack in the wiring to allow you to place it aside to access the stereo.
There are two screws that hold the factory stereo in its dock. Those screws, located on either side of the stereo facing upward, can be removed using Phillips-head screwdriver. Once the screws are removed, the deck slides forward to allow access to the wiring at the rear of the stereo. The wire groups at the rear need to be removed and can be done so in any order. The four wiring groups connect to the antenna, the amplifier, the speakers, and the power supply (the battery).
If you plan to install an aftermarket stereo, most will be compatible with BMW wiring. If not, you can connect the wiring groups to a wiring harness adapter before connecting to the new unit.

no wiring diagram needed go cut a plug from a junk yard and wire it into the cut wires then buy the adapter kit for you car and wire that to the car plug and the radio plug.
You will need to go buy a wiring harness adapter from your local Walmart (usually cheapest there) or Local Electronics place (ie Best Buy). The wire harness that goes out from the radio goes into the Adapter and the adapter plugs into the car harnesses. Also these Adapters come with the wiring diagrams for your vehicle. They typically run 10 - 15 bucks depending on where you get them. Thanks for using FixYa!
you should never cut the wires on your factory harness... metra and other companys have harnesses that fit your car and would provide you with a correct wire color code you need to hook up a aftermarket stereo keep that in mind but i will post the wire diagram u are looking for
