Dead battery, don't know where the battery is located but believe it is under the seat. Don't know how to remove the seat.

  • mralirwin Aug 30, 2009

No I don't. I believe the battery is located under the seat but no matter where I looked in that area, I could not find the secret to removing the seat, and please be aware that the seat is a two seater. The small cover at the back has been removed. I don't want to start pulling and pushing and possibly break some plastic tabs that may be holding it in place. In the end, I may have to go by the dealership and ask them.

This morning i went to crank my truck a 2006 Ford F150 and the battery was dead. After I got out to pop the hood I heard a strange clicking sound coming from in between the cab and bed - that is where it...

Pure SWAG on my part, but the only 2 things I can think of on the back cab wall are the power slider motor ( if a rear power slider is installed ) or the VSM ( Vehicle Security Module, called a Body Security module on 04-05 MY ).

should not be clicking, maybe an issue with maybe the ground to the VSM ?

You would need to remove the seat back if it is a SuperCrew or SuperCab, to get to the VSM to check the ground, and if any of the pins are discolored in the connectors ( remove and check ):

Close up of what you are shooting for when the seat is installed, the screw driver needs to go through that openeing to trigger the clip.

The trigger you need to press to release the seat back. Best once you get 1 side released, stick something under it so it does not click back into place, I used a 2x4 in a sock to slide between the seat back and bottom.

Where is the battery located on a 2005 kawasaki concours 1000? and how would i go about charging the battery? or does it have to be taken to the shop? bike has been sitting in the garage for over 6 months,...

I don't know 100% for sure where the battery is but typically on Japanese bikes they're under the seat. You can charge it yourself using a motorcycle battery charger. Sears also sells a charger that's good for cars and motorcycles and will condition a battery that's sulfated. Changing the gas in the tank would be a good thing to do to help prevent the possibilities of fuel related problems rearing up when you show the bike. Other than that, a good going over before you put it on the market is a good idea.

I have a 1998 Honda Valkyrie. I need to charge the battery but cannot get to it. I know the seat has to be removed, but I don't know how to remove it! Can you help?

Look under the seat between the fuel tank and seat area. Or follow the side cover around under the tank where the two side covers would meet. There is a Key Hole like on a car door you need your key to turn the lock and pull up on the front of the seat. The battery is under the seat under a plastic cover held down with a rubber strap.

Abs light came on ,now hear like what sounds like apump running. next morning battery was dead .it ran all night.

This is your electronic brake control module(ebcm). This is the module for the anti-lock brake system. The module is located on the inside of the frame just below the drivers seat area. The problem is the electrical part of the module. This is the top part of the module and you don`t have to disconnect any brake lines. It also isn`t in the easiest of places to work in.The 4 screws that hold it down are torx head screws and being in the area that they are in it can be difficult to remove because of rust. The other thing is this module is not cheap. If you don`t want it to drain the battery and don`t want to fix it right away then you can just remove the abs fuse in the under hood fuse panel. But you will not have anti-lock brakes.Just the regular brake system. If you do decide to replace it make sure you clean the area very good before starting because you don`t want dirt to get into the module when you take off the top part.Remember do not undo any brake lines. The fuse is a maxi fuse this means it is one of the big ones.Hope this helps.and let me know if you have any more questions.Good luck.

Where is the battery locate on a 2004 volkswagen toureg

I believe it is located under the front seat. To access it, locate the trim panel at the base of the seat. Remove it carefully and you'll see the front seat attachment bolts. Remove the bolts and tip the seat back. You'll then see the battery cover and you'll have access to the battery.
