if close to head, gas adj, if on air box(filter) side of carb then air mix screw is normal 1 1/2 turns from lightly seated should get started then adj from there
I didn't think there was an adjustment in there, the air fuel screw?? Is it outside? Are there 2 screws outside? Is it Mikuni? If it has 2 adj screws outside, turn both in all the way, then back them out 1 1/4 turns each, this should get you running, some minor adj from there should make it right. But I could have sworn there was no adj on those, and the only way to adjust it is to change the jet. Check it out.
start by synchronizing your throttle plates. Honda calls the next step the "idle drop procedure". u need to know if you have fuel adj. screws or air adj. screws. fuel screws will be on engine side of carb slide, air screws will be on airbox side of carb slide. start leaning out mixture, (turn in fuel screw, turn out air screw. idle will increase so keep adjusting idle back to spec.after each turn if needed. Adjust about 1/4 to 1/2 turn at a time on each carb until there is no change in idle, then richen up mixture by one half turn. If u sync throttle plates first then follow this procedure, there should be no hesitation when you "blip" the throttle, and after revving it should return to idle smooth,
With the float installed turn the carb upside down so the float is pointing up adjust the tab until you see the underside of the float is parrellel to the carberator's metal flat body section. This setting will provide the proper fuel level in the carb providing the proper maintained level of fuel for performance around tight turns as well as idling.
Just remove plastic located directly under seat with hand or thin object, under that is a Philip screw...take screw out and slap yourself in the face and say that was it!!!
Turn both the throttle screw and air screw inward until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each of them outward 1.5 turns. Whenever cleaning the carb, pay special attention to the items in blue. A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!< < And it doesn’t cost anything extra!
