Further gear slips down from 4th (engage/disingage) with noise and High RPM. my mechanic is saying that he has changed three different used gears but problem is same every time. Hi,

This might be because of the gear box problem. By any chance, did your car face flooding? In such cases, please drain the gear box and replace it with new gear fluids. Also, check if you go in low speeds, you might be able to engage it with ease. Please come back to me if you feel this doesnt solve your issue.

Regards,
Hari

I have a man diesel tga truck that wont change to gear from neutral. however the Dm gear is working but the normal D is not working. the engine starts normal but wont rev.

It sounds like you're facing a transmission issue with your MAN Diesel TGA truck. If the truck is not shifting into gear and the engine is not revving properly, there could be several potential reasons for this problem. Here are a few things you can check:
  1. Transmission Fluid Level and Quality: Inspect the transmission fluid level and condition. Low fluid levels or dirty/burnt fluid could affect the transmission's performance. Ensure that the fluid is at the correct level and is not excessively contaminated.
  2. Transmission Linkage: Check the linkage between the gear lever and the transmission itself. Sometimes, linkage problems can prevent the transmission from engaging properly.
  3. Transmission Control Module (TCM): The TCM is responsible for controlling the shifting of gears. A malfunctioning TCM could cause issues with gear changes. Scan for any error codes using a diagnostic tool to identify TCM-related problems.
  4. Solenoids: Automatic transmissions use solenoids to control the flow of transmission fluid, which in turn controls gear shifting. Malfunctioning solenoids can lead to gear engagement problems. A diagnostic scan can help identify if any solenoids are faulty.
  5. Torque Converter: Issues with the torque converter can cause difficulty in shifting gears. A mechanic should inspect the torque converter to ensure it's functioning correctly.
  6. Electrical Connections: Ensure all electrical connections related to the transmission system are secure and free of corrosion.
  7. Vacuum Lines (if applicable): If your truck has a vacuum-controlled transmission, check for any vacuum leaks or issues with the vacuum lines.
  8. Clutch System (if manual transmission): If your truck has a manual transmission, problems with the clutch system, such as a worn clutch plate or a malfunctioning clutch master or slave cylinder, could cause shifting difficulties.
Given the complexity of modern transmissions, it's recommended to have a professional mechanic or technician diagnose and address the issue. They can perform a detailed inspection, run diagnostics using specialized equipment, and provide you with an accurate diagnosis and repair plan.
If the engine is not revving properly in addition to the transmission issue, it's possible that these problems might be interconnected, and a comprehensive diagnosis is essential to resolve the overall performance issues with your truck.

Hyundai tiburon running at high rpms when shifting

hmmm....it would seem as if your trans is having a bit of a hard time shifting so its sort of waiting before it can shift to the next gear (possible the gear system is having a problem shifting due to it sticking to some gears) i'd have to say....a mechanic can take a look to see why its seemingly shifting late at high RPMs to me IMO the trans is just having a hard time shifting with gears wanting to stick together making the whole trans have a hard time shifting

2008 toyota Camry manual hard shifting from 1st to 2nd gear

With the engine off see if the shift between 1st to 2nd feel,s free if not it could be the cable check the clutch is disengageing all the way it should go into reverse without crunching, other then that it could be a synchro ring worn check that the gearbox has the right oil in it.

I have a 2000 ZX@ automatic that sometimes acts like someone is appling the brakes when i am going down the road at 50 to 65 mph. A mechanic told me that the computer is showing a code for a malfunctioning...

Your symptoms are different to your explanation. Shift solenoid issue would create shifting problems ... you would hear the engine over revving when the car should shift to the next gear ... or holding too long in a gear before shifting to the next. If this is what's happening, before going at the trans with solenoids pull the dipstick and check the oil, it should be a clean red color ... if brown or black change the oil ... it may be burnt and not doing it's job correctly causing slip.
Beware of quick oil change places they do not use the correct oil ..especially in Foreign cars.
Hope this helps

Transmission is shifting hard in first and 2nd

This part of the transmission gear work the hardest because it the first move to an accelerated gear change. I hope the problem is not too far gone. Check the level of the transmission fluid, not just that, check the color n smell. If it smells burnt u have burnt clutches. If however its more brownish than the original color n no burnt smell. Just drain n replace oil then see if it improves. If it doesn't improve, run a scan on it, it may also be the shift solenoids acting up. Worst case scenario is burnt clutches. I hope it doesn't get to that.

I have a 2003 camry,4 cyl engine auto trans,143000 miles on it, just replaced the trans with used unit with 20,000 mile on it, car dose the same thing, when shifting from 2nd to 3rd it holds the shift high...

Usually burnt and discolored ATF mean pump or torque converter not doing there job or bands and clutches are worn. Shift solinoid or a pressure problem is the problem with 2nd and 3rd gear, Take it to a transmission shop and have them look it over but like I said earlierdiscolored ATF could mean a rebuild.
