Mower runs good and cuts good for fifteen minutes then the engine sputters and cuts off. the mower cranks back but continues to sputter and eventually cuts off again. I don't think its the engine. after letting mower cool for a couple of hours, it again runs good for a few minutes but then begins sputtering and shuts off.

Mine did this too. THe semi-transparent fuel filter will look like no gas is in it if you have the problem I had. The gas cap on the tank has a tiny breather hole to keep it from coming under a vacuum as gas runs out. Push thru it with a toothpick to clear the hole. That's all it was. But I did have some black debris clogging the filter and had same symptom.

Please after it runs and quits, pull the fuel line and see how much flow of fuel you have,if not very much you tank has something blocking the flow and it can be in your fuel line,

Zero turn mower is sputtering and dies

Check everything is clean. Check the air filter is clean, check that the engine cooling fan, cutting blades and cutting deck are free of grass. Check all the drive belt pulleys to ensure accumulated grass is not jamming anything. Check the fuel filler cap is clean and the breather hole works.

My mower is four or five years old and has done well, but now when it is used it runs great for about fifteen minutes and then sputters and dies. When it does this it will not restart until it cools

The oil level is low. when the oil drains from the engine it fills the base to the level of the sensor. When it runs it takes a little time for the oil level to drop below the sensor..........Hope this helps.

Possible ignition switch problem . The mower chanked and ran for about 10 minutes then sarted sputtering and cut off. I checked gas level. The engine wold not turn over. Noticed lights would not come on....

Sounds like a bad wire at the ignition switch, disconnect the battery, remove the ignition, or if you can see the wires connected to the switch look for broken wire, also check safety switches on seat and engage mower switch.
