No Engine I know of has a 1,2,3,4, fitting I am sure you have the firing order connected wrong, plus your description point to the firing order as well. Cheers, Malcolm Campbell.
Could be a long list of things including dirty injectors or a leaking EGR valve. The coil could be weak or the distributor cap and rotor may be shorting to ground. Has the fuel filter been replaced ? You'll have to go down the list and try to eliminate components to narrow down your options. Does it happen all the time, only when you are accelerating, etc.
Could possibly be the coil pack has a crack in it, could also be plug wires have cracks in them as well, sounds like time for a tune up. Recommend replacing plugs and wires, and if that doesn't solve the issue then spring for the coil pack. Scanning the computer will tell you what code you have to help point you in the right direction as well. If you have any p0300-p0306 codes those are all misfire codes.p0300 is random multiple misfire, p0301-p0306 are individual cylinder misfires.
i dont have a diagram but know how it goes on. from the passenger side of the van starting at the crank shaft. it goes from the crank shaft to the ac pump straight up to the power steering pump down to the ideler pully then back up to altinator then down aroun the water pump then over to the tensioner and back down to the crank saft
