Just replaced all four rotors and pads on my 2000 GMC Jimmy SLE 4 X 4, ABS. Now the left rear brake is hanging and getting very hot. Can anyone tell me what would cause this? Do I need to bleed the system?

When you compressed the piston back into the caliper it probably didn't go in straight. Now the piston is crooked in the bore and is sticking causing the caliper to get hot. You can try to correct this if you still have the old brake pads. just replace the inside pad with an old one and pump the brakes a few times. Then remove the caliper again and leave the inside pad in the caliper to push against with the C-clamp and gently try to re-seat the piston. Never re-seat the piston without using something like an old pad. Don't use c-clamp against the piston directly. I hope this helps.

Does a 1997 Gmc jimmy have back bums or pads

You mean drums? Depends on the vehicle options but should be rotors/pads. Easy to check - look through the wheel spokes and if pads, you should see the rotor.

Abs and brake lights on

Thats a big possibility. The abs light is on telling the driver the abs system is disabled. And the regular brake light could be on because the parking brake is not released.

2001 GMC Jimmy, left rear pads were stuck against the rotor

Either a bad caliper or wheel cylinder. In the majority of the cases, the cylinder is to blame. But if you want to be safe, replace both to cover your bases.

Replaced front calipers, master cylinder, front and rear pads and resurfaced all four rotors.I bled the brakes starting with right rear then left rear, right front then left front and still feels like there...

did you bench bled master? if yes do you have abs system,if so you must bleed at abs block,if it has bleeders, if not then you must line bleed all 6 lines.2in from master 4 out to wheeles. then rebleed wheel in cylinder. If you have bleeders at abs block you dont to rebleed wheels. best dun with powerbleeder. hoooooops this helps

Front brakes drag help!!

Try replacing the brake hose they have a tendancy to collapse on the inside over time due to age and will cause brake drag.

2004 GMC sierra 1500 4x4 brakes

Have you checked the hardware on the disc brakes all the way around, as well as checking the rear pads? Wore out hardware could cause you to require more pressure to get the pads to move, as well as low brakes on the rear. Your braking system sends more pressure to the front of the vehicle because it requires more pressure up there. Less pressure on the rear can cause this to happen. I'm willing to bet the problem from the pedal is coming from the rear brakes somewhere and not the front. The last possibility that I can think if is a problem in the ABS solonoids, they might not be opening up all the way causing you to require more pressure.
