I have a GE Spacemaker Over-The-Range Microwave Model #JVM1533WD002 that has worked perfectly for 10 years. Now everything still works, except it doesn't heat the food. Where is the fuse located and how...

A common symptom of a failed magnetron is a failure to heat with everything else (magnetron fan, stirrer, timer, etc.) working fine. Check the GE manufacture date for the unit on its nameplate to determine the age of the magnetron. For GE models of the past, magnetrons had a 10 year parts replacement warranty. Magnetrons can be expensive, so you need to weigh all your options, i.e., repair versus replacement, before you commit to one solution.

My spacemaker microwave XL 1400 no longer heats up? Would should I do? The light works, however. Please help! Thank you :-)

Likely a magnetron problem. I know they want approx. $150 just for the replacement part. It sits toward the back of the unit. Unless you are in love with your existing unit, it's likely time for it to visit the curb.

My ge microwave spacemaker 1800 won't heat my food pls help

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the magnetron, near the blower housing.)))

Ge spacemaker runs but wont heat

Hi, there are three issues that will cause a no heat situation in a microwave. these issue are a failed Magnetron, busted cut-off fuse and, failed diode.

I recommend checking all these area that are located inside the microwave for faults.

The most common issue will be a failed Magnetron.

The diode and, fuse will be located on the noise filter assembly.

GE Spacesaver microwave model: JVM1653sf001

It could be the Magnetron. First, If the unit is out of warranty, you can try to remove the rear cover (make sure unit is unplugged) and see if there is a blown fuse in the section that powers the Magetron. If all the fuses are good, I would suspect a faulty Magnetron. The Magnetron is the microwave tube which makes the food cook. They are not too difficult to replace. MCM Electronics sells them and you can call them with your model and they can find a replacement for you will be able to see how much it will cost.

GE Spacemaker XL 1400 Microwave

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:

- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose connection on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part
