Was driving. Stopped at red light, lost ALL POWER.

I have a 97 monte carlo with 60,000 miles. the car has been well maintained but nonetheless is not running. i went to a friends approx 100 miles away. the car rode great - no idiot lites, no problems. got up the next day to leave, drove 3 1/2 blocks and stopped at a red lite and went to go but the car was dead. no power at all. no idiot lites, nothing only a click click click when you try to turn it over, then after a while no click click click - just silence. i am basically lost cause i have no clue n my car is 100 miles away. i would appreciate any help. Please and thank you :)

97 Monte Carlo LS getting hot while driving then cools off when letting off gas

have a coolant pressure test done. Have the radiator cores checked for blockage. Sometimes when an engine has sat for a period of time, rust and scale form in the water jackets of the engine. ON running ,this breaks away and blocks the cores of the radiator Other times the old motor tolerates a partially blocked radiator when a relative new motor needs all the cores free to maintain the temperature.

The first thing you have to do is, put it on a computer to find out what code is coming up...Autozone will do it for FREE. Then go from there... hope this helps you???

97 chevy monte carlo trunk pops open and locks lock and unlock on their own while car is runnning and off

I have a 97 Monte Carlo that has locked me out a number of times. I have never experienced the trunk doing it's own thing. What I have done is simply remove the fuse to the power door locks. I drive it to work and am usually the only rider so no big hassle for passengers.

97 monte carlo will not start

if you remove the battery and charge it than reinstall (make shore all lighting and non essentals are off) and if the car runs for awhile then the problem most likely is with the alternator
