SOURCE: How much fork oil in a 2002 KTM 400 SX

White power allow a 110mm air gap with springs out and fork compressed as a general guide ,adjust from there according to prefrance . Thats probably, from memory about 600ml or so.If you overfill the leg ,cut the tip off the fork oil bottle , mark out on a clear piece of fuel hose 110 mm from one end of hose with a permanent marker, attach other end to the tip of the now empty fork oil bottle nipple, squeeze bottle, insert hose down to 110mm mark, take hand pressure off bottle and WWHHAAALLLAAA!!!!!!!!. Magically the excess oil is sucked back up into bottle.....Don't you just love the forces of nature. : ] ride on DB ......Hope this gets you out of trouble ....Flabbycat

SOURCE: Fork oil capacity for a 2005 kawasaki vn1600 mean

Hi Des, Im am Irish too, howya doin? The oil you want is SAE 10W-20. and 445ml if you are changing the oil. It can be more accurately checked with the fork removed and fully compressed and the spring removed, the oil will be 120mm from the top ot the stanchion.
The manual will give you more info on this and any other future problems so here is a link to it. Good luck to ya, and please rate me if I've helped you. Thanks

Just installed new seals need fork oil capacity and best type to use bike has 4500 miles

Damper oil is traditionally a fairly light grade of straight mineral oil; SAE 20 or 30 is typical but people have their preferences and sometimes with good reason and I have heard of all manner of oils being used from auto transmission fluid to engine oil.

Your bike specs should tell you what oil and how much is recommended for your bike or any motorcycle parts department or repair shop.

The front supension on my bike barley moves really stiff but yet bike is in a good condition

Hi paul..sounds to me you have to much fork oil in the forks mate.or you have the wrong grade oil in the fork legs...or if u have air valves on top of your fork stems.theyve been pumped up to much.but that would blow your seals..1st off.id drain the fork oil out .then replace with the correct grade oil.and oil level in each fork leg.

I have TVS victor GLX 2004 model. There is a fork oil leakage & the mechanic says there is a problem with inner tubes which contains fork oil(both sides). Price for one inner tube is Rs. 1200 /- Also...

see...this is not the right solution ectually! he (mechanic) must had to tell you the truth. that there is no need to change wheel bearing & chain damaged along with complete change the things. if you had no idea at that moment than you must resell this bike and should go for new one. but.... what will you do? if the same situation happen again in future with your new one.

you must changed the fork oil just. these cost you just around 650/- per pair. mechanic was the over smart and he knew that you do not know anything about the bike and it's service with spare part.

i have too this one TVS VICTOR GLX 125 CC 2004 nov. model. and i m very much satisfied with it. if you compare with these days bike's ... than you realize...it give more mileage than other and less maintainable.

so.. if you have that bike now a days... so keep it with you. and find better mechanic. bike is not problem.

What's the correct oil-level and grade on front fork??

Std fork oil grade all around is 10W, depending on bike usage and preference, it can go down to 5W or up to 30W.
Oil level usually run from 175 -250 cc per fork, too much oil will cause fork to be stiff, not enough can damage fork seal, so go by trial and error but the amount should not run far from above numbers. Good luck!
