97 kawasaki ZX11D that will not stay running without the choke on

I have a 1997 kawasaki ZX11D
I can start it with the choke on
but after letting it warm up and
I try to turn off the choke it will not stay running. I checked
the carburetor and it seems to have nothing clogged. I also
changed the spark plugs air and
fuel filter. The fuel pump seems
to be pumping gas and I'm getting gas from the tank just fine. Any ideas what the problem
could be ????

It's winter time...so cold weather is present and you'll have to use the choke. Are you using the choke?

Engine starts but won't continue to run. Choke doesn't stay closed after starting. will stay running only if I hold choke closed manually.

The bike starts only with the choke on and stays runnin but when you let choke off the bike cuts out.Tried changing choke cable but still the same with a different one.

have you checked your idler screw on the side of the carb? if not it may be a blocked main jet, also check your air filter. try taking it out completely and running it. if it runs it may need replacing.

My 97 grand prix idles fast when i start it, normally, if i let it run for a little bit, i can shut the engine off and restart it and it gets better...any ideas?

It runs fast because the choke and or high idle are set. This is normal, after it warms up, give it a little gas and let off, it should idle down.

Is my choke on my 97 suzuki vz800. Supposed to be

You should be able to adjust the choke to where it will stay in without holding it by turning the rubber piece behind the choke clockwise towards you until the choke stays out on its own. You can adjust this so the choke automatically adjust as the bike warms.
Hope this helps..

97 TL 1000 won't start after winter storage

Install new sparkplugs. Activate choke. Do not touch throttle. Push starter button. Do not touch throttle. If bike stalls repeat until it stays running, then you may give it a little throttle. If I give my TL any throttle on start up it floods. It usually takes 2 or 3 tries where the bike starts then stalls before it stays running. DO NOT TOUCH THROTTLE UNTIL IT IDLES. THEN GENTLEY.
