How do i change the speedo cable on my 03 suzuki volusia? the speedo jumps around and my trip meter doesnt ork is it even the speed cable or is the magnet out

your speedo is electronic, no cables run to it. i found that out when i took the bike apart to paint it. it's possible that the comp board may be malfunctioning. may need to replace speedo on tank.

remove the speedo display from t5he top of the tank. undo the bolts that hold the tank onto the frame.
there is a pushfit connection which is sort of mid tank area. this is one of these squeeze and push things.

Have a 02 suzuki volusia with just over 8,000 miles i am

Have you had the front wheel off at any point?

What usually happens is the magnetic speed sensor is not lined up correctly when the front wheel is replaced and the sensor breaks (a very common occurrence).

Speedometer on my 2003 volusia stopped working, lights are OK what do you think is the problem

It sounds very much like the Speed Sensor has failed, it will need to be replaced. If this is not the problem then the Speedo itself could have failed but very unlikely.

2003 Suzuki Volusia speedometer (and odometer) quit working.

They are not cable driven. They are electric. Check your fuses, more than likely you have blown a fuse. Do not check them just by looking at them. You need to use either a test light or a multimeter to test them. Fuses can look fine and still have an open circuit. If you trust your eyes, you can be wasting a lot of time.

2004 suzuki volusia 800 speedometer stopped

I had this same problem its the teeth on the bottom of the speedo take your front tire off be careful with your brakes slide out the axle then just turn your front wheel to one side and the speedo wiil fall out I am willing to bet that the teeth are broken on the end they are made of plastic if you want something a little more detailed just drop me a line at [email protected]
