I start my bike up get on it and can put it in gear without clutch this don't suppose to happen my pronlem

Putting your bike in gear without the clutch is completely possible and can be dangerous as power will be applied as soon as you do. The idea of the clutch is to apply power between the engine and drive train gradually. I typically only use the clutch on my bike when pulling out and down shifting, otherwise the rest of my shifts are clutch less. Just be careful the bike doesn't take off on you, best to always use the clutch when putting the bike in gear.

I have a yamaha virago 250 1996 model. Ok, now. I take the stand off. The engine switch is in Run position. When I press the clutch and put my bike in gear , and try to start it, it does not start...why ?...

The clutch master/lever has a safety switch that tells the bike if the clutch lever is in (no power to rear) or out (power to rear). After almost 30 years this switch may have failed, making the bike think that the clutch is engaged regardless of lever position. If you have a multimeter you can test the switch yourself. Since the bike starts properly in neutral (also a safety feature) then the clutch lever switch is your most likely problem. Your bike might also have a side stand switch like mine. It functions much the same way, if the side stand is down and the bike put in gear it will kill the engine.

What's your problem?1995 yamaha virago 1100 that sometimes you you put into gear and immediately dies

The Clutch on some bikes will disengage the starter motor. Yamaha will not allow you to engage gear when the side stand is down. Hope this gives you some idea

With the bike in gear and the clutch engage, the

Clutch discs are stuck, put the bike in gear, not running, pull in the clutch and push the bike back and forth to break the clutches loose. Once they break loose start the engine put the bike in gear, hold the front brake, and slip the clutch a little to remove any built up or stuck crud on the plates.

Gear problems

now you would have to make sure your clutch is not faulty as if the bike slightly jump while putting it in first gear and cuts off , you most probably have a clutch problem .
this is what you have to try first :
start the bike on while depressing the clutch while in gear and see what happens .
if the bike keeps on running , tension the clutch .
if the bike stall , your clutch could be faulty or your oil could be too ,thick and needs changing .
try this first and let me know how you go
