Because you ran out of gas..dirt from the bottom of your tank gets in to carb..probably just need to clean fuel filter

2004 Honda VT 1100 C2 Sabre starts fine but acts like its running out of gas after riding a half mile. Let it sit for awhile and It will ride for another half mile then stop again. I have changed the fuel...

Next time it does this, remove/open the gas cap and see if that helps.
If so, then the venting system for the gas tank is plugged somewhere, and you're vapor locking.

the carbs are dirty from ethanol clean them by using a good carburetor cleaner remove the float jets and spray the carb cleaner using the small tube straw that comes with the cleaner let it soak overnight but drain the gas if its old if its not get the additive that takes away the ethanol

Is the only way to fill the coolant for my Honda Shadow Sabre 1100 is by the small cap near the passengers right foot peg?

I filled my radiator with coolant by removing the cover on the right side of the gas tank just behind the handle bars. When you remove the cover, you will see the radiator cap. Remove the cap and begin filling with the appropriate coolant.

I have a 1997 honda vt1100 and after driveing a long while it will shut off as if you ran out of gas wait a while restart and will run fine have noticed if you remove the fuel cap somtimes it will crank...

Sounds like you have a venting broblem, check the cap, have you removed the tank there should be a vent line under the tank it may be Bent kinked, does it set outside or in a country setting know this sounds strange but i have seen wasp plug up vent holes before ,i would start with tank removal and inspect the lines for Damage
