Question about 2008 Suzuki GSX-R 600

1 Answer

I have a 2008 Suzuki GSXR 600. Recently my bike has started stalling in 2nd gear. If i upshift to second gear, with RPM's around 5000 to 6500 and put a little load on it(ie give it about half open throttle), the bike stalls. It completely dies and is semi-difficult to start. I have to give it alittle throttle and crank on the starter to get it running again. Then it runs fine in every other gear. What is up? This doesn't happen every time, but now that i know how to do it, i can get it to stall almost every time i want it too. It is weird because it will start to accelerate then just drop off and die. It is easiest to stall if im climbing a hill, if that helps. Even though it has happened on a flat grade. It has about 4500 miles on it.

Sounds like you are having a problem with the fuel injection on it. Take it to the dealer.

Got 2001 gsxr 600! bike starts in (N) but stalls out when put in gear?????

Check you side stand safety switch . Suzuki uses a system that kills the motor if you put it in gear with the side stand down or put the side stand down while it is in gear and it is running.

My 2008 suzuki gsxr 600 stalls when it reaches 70mph and above ,when the bike slows down the engine gives a **** and comes back in operation.

Make sure your air filter is clean, check the fuel filter and tank for contaminants.
More off the wall , the rev limiter may be faulty, is it a certain speed or a given rev range that causes the shutdown?
Look at the air filter first!!

2003 SUZUKI GSXR 600 SHIFTING QUESTION I have a 2003 Suzuki GSXR 600 with only 2,500 miles on it (never been dropped or abused im the 2nd owner) and was riding it the other day at around 30mph and suddenly...

The transmission on your bike is not syncronized like a cars trans. When you are trying to shift from neutral at speed you must slow down to allow the gears to mesh. As far as having to rock the bike into gear sometimes, I have owned eighteen motorcycles of different sizes and makes and have had to rock all of them at one time or another to get them in gear. again lack of syncronization. It really doesn't sound as if you have a problem.

2003 SUZUKI GSXR 600 SHIFTING QUESTION

just input , not resolving anything. but i used to have a similar issue with mine, but i had a gs 750t . it has around 20,000 on the clock. sometimes it didnt want to shift into 1st from a dead stop, i had to let out on clutch, then pull clutch again , then it went right in. the gears are so fine cut in the bikes that once they get worn, even the shift fork, it gets a little harder to get into those gears without a little coaxing. by the sounds of it (without knowing the mileage) i dont think id worry too much. especially if its shifting up and down through gears without grinding of any sort. if the clutch is ok on it (being an 03) i assume its still touchy , ull be ok
