Question about 1979 Yamaha XS 650 F

New battery, fully charged, motorcycle runs until battery is drained, and then unable to even kick start. Also, turn signals work, and tail lights work, but no headlight. 79 Yamaha 750 Special

Check the charging rate of your bike ,it seems there is a problem to it.

Why would honda atv 1997 start then drive then die ? maybe alternator?


It could just need a new battery but the symptoms of an alternator would be as you are driving the displays/lights would slowly start dimming and you would lose power and unable to start it again. If you fully charge the battery after this and it drains again then it is your alternator. Better way to check this it to fully charge it and take the unit to a CARQUEST. They will hook it up and run a test on the battery and alternator at the same time.

Tail light stays on when motorcycle is turned off


A long time ago, Honda's had a parking lite, believe it or not. You would turn the key all the way past off and remove it to engage the tail lite. To just turn the bike off, take the key out at off if it comes out ok.

YOU STILL NEED TO HAVE THE BATTERY FULLY CHARGE . LIGHT USE 5 TO 7 AMP FOR THE ECM TO POWER UP. IT NEED A FULL CHARGE. THE TAIL LIGHT WILL DRAIN THE BATTERY AND WILL NOT WORK. JUMP TRUCK AND REPLACED BRAKE STWITH OR ADJEST IT.WITH A GOOD BATTERY KEY ON YOU WILL HEAR THE PUMP RUN FOR 15 TO 20 SECONDS AND IT SHOULD RUN

New battery fully charged has lost all charge and will not start the bike after about 2 hours use. 2nd battery in 3 days. suzuki boulevard s83


For a battery to go dead on you like that there must be something draining the battery while the vehicle is switched off. It could be something like a which is not switching off or a short across some circuit that does not show up on any light. The first and easiest test is to disconnect the battery negative cable whenever you park the vehicle overnight etc. and see if the battery still runs down.
As a more positive step disconnect the positive lead from the battery and wire a bulb like a tail light bulb, between the terminal and the removed lead. The bulb should light up. Make sure that everything on the vehicle is switched off, the bulb should still be lit. Remove and replace the fuses one by one until the bulb goes out. That is the circuit that is running your battery flat. Check all the components on that circuit until you get the light to stay out and your problem should be fixed.
Check your charging system. With the engine running at about 2000 rpm, a volt meter across the battery terminals should read around 14 to 14.5 volts and drop to about 13.8 volts with the engine at idle. If this does not happen, the charging system may be defective. Even with lights on the voltage should climb, but will drop lower at idle.

Brand new unit forward and reverse seems very slow moves a little then just hovers.


Make sure you're charging fully, until the light on the charger doesn't get ANY brighter when you unplug the helicopter. Also, battery must be allowed to cool 10 minutes after flying AND another 10 minutes after charging.
Most crucial is that you must never fully discharge battery. Fully draining a Li/Po even once (especially when it's new) can cripple or ruin your battery. As soon as you are unable to maintain altitude, land copter and power it off. Also, there is a button on the remote, labelled "tail motor speed switch" located near the trim control. With it in the "off" or up position the tail motor is much slower allowing for more precise control. When button is pushed to the down or "on" position, tail motor moves faster giving more tilt, and thereby much more forward/reverse 'thrust'. Verify that tail rotor is moving when right joystick is actuated (and that it reverses when right stick is pulled in opposite direction) and that it isn't loose on it's shaft... this can be tested by verifying tail rotor spin in one direction then reversing joystick... tail rotor should instantly start spinning in the other direction with NO hesitation, if it slows and then starts spinning in other direction or anything like that then it's loose. Turn helicopter upside down then VERY CAREFULLY apply a small drop of super glue where the shaft meets the tail rotor, be very cautious to not get any glue near where the shaft comes out of the motor, and do not turn right side up until glue is fully dry.
