Does it have a Schrader valve where you can test pressure and volume ?

  • doncharles Jun 24, 2018

No sir. Fuel injection. I cleaned a tested injectors. Installed new pump, pressure regulator ( with new housing) , check valve. Checked spark . Still no start.

Schrader valves are for injectors . I was thinking if it has a Schrader valve you could bleed any air out and make sure your flow is good .

  • doncharles Jun 24, 2018

Understood. I disconnected fuel line from check valve, depressed stem in check valve while cranking engine thinking I should get gas through valve, got none. Problem must still be in components inside tank if I’m thinking correctly. Is there a step I missed like priming the system some way?

SOURCE: 2006 road king engine heat

I don't see how oil can cause an overheating problem. I think the service tech was screwing with the fuel/ignition map when the bike was on the dyno. Is it a F.I. engine? Lean mixture or retarded/over advanced timing will cause this, among other things. The dealer may have to eat the cost of repair if you can prove they caused the problem. An air cooled engine that overheats is gonna self destruct!! Get it checked out NOW.

Its your fuel pump if you can't hear it. And its inside your tank. Not a hard fix if you have a book that tells you how to remove it. Alot of procedures to follow to get it right. And yes it does work off a relay.

SOURCE: rear brake not holding pressure , pedal goes to the floor

Is your rear rotor warped? if the rotor is warped it will push the pads out causing you to have to pump them to stop.Remember the dot 5 is aeroscopic. if you shake or drop the bottle of fluid, you cannot use it for at least 24 hours. it will continue to create air in itself for that long. so even if you bleed the system correctly it will continue to introduce air into the system.

SOURCE: Road King fuel pump will not prime?

You have a couple of electrical checks you can do first. Yes this will be somewhat painful. The other item is if you go through these troubleshooting steps you won't be happy if your fuel pumps DOA.
First replace your fuse, I know it may look good, but replace it anyway. Next check your relays, then under your speedo console there is a connector on the tank. If this connector has been unplugged it is very easy to bend the pins inside, check for that. Check for power to the pins. If you have power and still no working pump, then it is an entirely different task and somewhat costly.
A bad fuel pump is not a real fun replacement sometimes it is however not a bad idea to replace the whole ball of wax which can run you about $400 for parts at retail. If you conclude your pump is bad just post with your year and model. Hope this helps,

SOURCE: Harley won't start.

A harley AGM battery are usaully good for three to five years the best thing to do is have the battery load tested. Now as far as your problem now depending on the batterys state of charge the solenoid will click or not.Because you store it alot you should keep a trickle charger on the battery

2003 HD Road King - starts fine, idle normal. Once it is warm, idles at 2000 rpm. Does not come back down, even after riding for an hour or two. Only idles normal when cold. Help??

If you bike is equipped with a carburetor, the idle stop screw is located at the top of the carb on the right side. Counterclockwise turn slows the idle speed.

If you bike is fuel injected, a dealer or shop will have to set the idle speed electronically.

Good Luck
