You have to pick the kick stand up before you start bike dummys
The speed sensor is located in the front wheel. Follow the cable down to the axle. Please post the solution or problem if your figure this out. I been ride for a year now with the same problem. I've not had the time to check out the problem yet myself.
I found this too. There an issue with the ECU's speedometer test. There's a tune version that the dealer can download into the ECU to skip this test.
Here the forum discussion on that topic ...

The wires (looks like a spedo cable, but is really just a jacket over the wires leading to the sensor) do indeed run from the plug near the right side of the gas tank, down the left front fork to the sensor at the left side of the front axle. I found the "cable" out of the holders on the left front fork, allowing slack to rub against the rotor. Re-fitting the "cable" to the holders after working the slack out of it, disconnecting the plug near the gas tank and cleaning it, and plugging back in seems to have fixed the spedo. Inspect the wires carefully if the were rubbing on the rotor to make sure there is no damage to them. If your problem is not fixed by doing the same, then I have to suspect the sensor itself may be the problem. Keep your fingers crossed for both of us!
