Question about 2003 kawasaki KLR 650

2 Answers

I parked the bike a month ago and it was running fine. I just went to start it and it started with a bit of trouble but ran ok with the choke fully open. However, when I back off the choke or try to give it some throttle it dies...What should I try?

What kind of bike is it? If it's a moped i would recommend to clean your carb. Also shaking the fuel tank should help.

Why won't my 2005 yz250f run without the choke on

Hi, James and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel cap or fuel tank is not venting properly.
2. Fuel filter clogged.
3. Fuel line pinched or kinked.
4. Float needle and seat sticking.
5. Float level too low.
6. Carburetor bowl vent line clogged/blocked/pinched.
7. Idle adjusting screw set too low.
8. Air/fuel mixture screw set too lean.
9. Idle port, transfer ports, slow air jet clogged.
10. Slow fuel jet clogged.
11. Faulty fuel pump.

Yamaha TW 200 starts but won't run.

If the bike has sat for a long period of time without being run - the gas that is sitting in the carb(s) will shellac.. Then the carb(s) would need to be cleaned and "rebuilt"..
