Question about 2003 kawasaki KX 125

The engine seized up so you could not kick over than it kicked over but does not have compression (it seems like)

Probably.... A ring is burnt, or broken. You need to remove (Or have someone capable) the cylinder. You can look at the piston by removing the exhaust pipe, and look while kicking the engine over slowely. If it's damaged, you will see it.

94 yamaha blaster. Daughter was riding it out in first (she forgot to shift). We heard a pop, engine stopped and kick start is locked up.If we take the engine apart will be able to notice the damage


if she over reved it , you may have damaged the crank , this I suspect is why u cant kick it over , what id start with is the drive chain (or is it a shaft?) cover , what ur trying to do is get it move slightly backwards to take strain off kick start , u may need to remove spark plug to unload any cyl pressures as well , if after unloading pressure off the kick strt and then it begins to rotate freely , hold finger over sprk plug hole to ck for compression as u rotate it slowly with kick start , if engine doesn't unlock or have compression then im afraid its a tear down to look better at damage

Electric start does nothing and kick start ain't working ur has power Yamaha Cygnus x 125


the way you are describing it the engine is seized
but if the engine will turn over on the flywheel bolt
then it could be a couple of things
using your kick start (if your kick start does not move when pressure is applied then your engine is seized)
(remedy) total engine strip
("your kick start just goes up and down not doing anything")
seized clutch
remedy strip your clutch and clean up
("if a clicking noise is heard when using the electric start but your engine does not move it is your starter solenoid")
take off old one and replace and replace

My xr 600 seized while running I had a just replaced the cdi box and was running perfect. I was able to shift down to neutral and got towed home . I tried shifting up but can't get it into second to see...


Hi , Sorry to hear this about your bike but follow these instruction . Firstly remove the spark plug . put your bike with the back wheel off the grown and in any gear try to turn the back wheel . due to no compression you should technically turn the rear wheel in gear . If this does not work and it will not kick start without the spark plug out and still remain seized i am afraid that you will need to look at getting a new top end rebuilt . Give it a try and let me know how you go .

Wont start


Hi

When you say kick strat wont go down, do you mean engine is "stuck" If this is the case the engine is "seized" try turning engine over with a spanner on the drive sprocket. If no movement at all engine is seized.I assume that the radiator is full of coolant??

Engine seized?


First thing to do is make sure it's the kick starter that has seized and not the engine. Take the cover off the end of the crankcase and try to turn the crankshaft. Apparently these engines were notorious for doing bottom ends. Start pulling it down and see what you find..

2005 250 f 65 kicks to start


Several things can cause the problem. First, spring for a new spark plug. The stock plug is NGK CR8E. Now the plug is eliminated as a problem. Next, pull the slide out of the throat of the carb. Now remove the jet needle. Put the needle clip on the 4th notch, (this is the stock setting). Use only premium gas. Next, follow the starting instructions below.

There is a proper way to start the engine. Four controls are on your bike to assist in starting.
  • The choke, used when the engine is cold. Pull the red knob for choke.
  • The " Hot Start " Lever, used when the engine is hot. Pull the lever to lean the fuel mix when the engine has been running.
  • The de-compression lever, always used.
  • The throttle, used to prime the cylinder.
Don't kick, instead, push the kick lever downward. You will feel the back pressure as the piston is going upward on the compression stroke to the point the pressure is great enough that the kick lever "locks up". You are very close to TDC. NOW, pull in the de-compression lever. Push the kick lever a little bit more to get the piston past TDC. Give the throttle a 1/4 turn then let it snap closed. A diaphragm in the carb gives a shot of gas when this is done. DO NOT do this multiple times because you will flood the engine. Leave the throttle closed when kicking. Release the de-compression lever and give a strong kick through the full sweep of the kick start lever. Quickly get your foot off the kick lever at the end of the kick to avoid any chance of "kickback" from a backfire. It can be very painful, and can even break a leg. I am serious about that. Repeat the process (but without the throttle priming), until the bike starts. A good battery and clean air filter will also aid in starting.

Very hard to kick start


i dont know what your timing is relevant to flicking the compression switch and kicking, but get the engine to the compression stroke and then as you go to kick it hard, flick the switch at that moment. timing is everything. i had an old yamaha tt 500 that kicked back so hard my foot slipped off the kick start and kick lever came up and took the skin off my shin.. it took quit a bit of time to get the timing but once i did, it was easy.. hope this helps.

I cant kick start my moped the engine seems locked up


its the central google clutch, theres two springs either side and one of these springs must have seized meaning that the clutch can not open up and close, it will always be in gear, i know its a rev and go and you dont have gears but you do, you have a nuetrual and a go when the springs are shut its in nuetral when there open they go, if they are open because of the seized spring the ped is in gear there for you canot turn the engine over by kick starting it. hope i helped :D

I was riding my Yamaha wr250f 2003 model.... i was in 3th gear and suddenly the engine stops and the wheel locks and the kick start is more easy to kick... and the engine can't start! What seems to be the...


I recomend you to take a compression test.
From your explanation it seems there's no compression at all thts why the engine rotates easier on kick start.

'03 450 always seems cold-


Do a compression check. It should be 120lbs or above. Check the compression release. Is it closing fully? Burned valves may be at play here also. Bad piston rings or seize scars on the cylinder wall? If you need a service manual you can download a free PDF from the site below.
