SOURCE: how to set valaes on a 1500 intruder
1998-2004 1500 Intruders have hydraulic valves, so they require no adjustments. They may eventually need replacement, which should be done by a competent mechanic/dealer. If you are experiencing valve problems, check your oil type and last time it was changed. If you are using a different oil than recommended, or if it is old, the oil may not be pressurizing the hydraulic system correctly. Just my 2 cents.
SOURCE: Intruder 1500, 1999, why can't I find the fuel
You dont have any fuel shut off valve because you have fuel injection which uses an electric fuel pump inside the gas tank all you need to do is buy a fuel additive called stabil and add the appropriate amount to the gas and you will have no problem. Make sure you fill your tank all the way up. because if you leave it like half way the upper half gets condensation and moisture . so just fill it up add stabil take out your battery and bring it in the house so it stays warm and dry and you will be good to go in the spring.
SOURCE: Suzuki intruder 1500 charging system
You need to buy a volt meter and set it on 10, or 20 v-. Start the bike and see what it says. A good charging system will show 13-14+ volts. If the meter says 11-12 volts or does not change, you have a bad stator, or rect/reg. Take to a shop to have it further tested. Chaz Moto DC
SOURCE: my 2002 intruder is not charging the battery
check the fuse,if the fuse is good, check the terminals, make sure theres no loose connections.if its still not charging, check the diode,if its still not charging, your stator or your charging coil is busted.
SOURCE: my "01" 1500 intruder wentr completly dead, no
Well you may need to look at the charger that it stays on. The battery is'nt made to be charged all the time and it may have ruiened the battery. The charger if not plugged in or the place it's plugged inton whent dead the charger it's self will run the battery down. ( a battery tender might not, it's different than a charger) I would get a test light ( a tool that has a light bulb in the handle an ice pick on the end and on the other end a lenght of wire and a clip on the end to connect to ground). use the light to see where the power is getting to. Most of the time on a vehical thats sitting the battery cable connections at the battery are the troble. Disconnect and reconnect them scraping them off the get them clean, and reconnect them tightly. As the battery has been on charge for a long time it may be bad and have to be changed.
