You should really take that to the dealer to get done. they would have the equipment for the proper allignment of the rear wheel and the proper tention and/or allignment of the chain/driveshaft. if you do not have the exp nessisary to do this or have never done it befor then have it done for you the first time and make sure you can watch them to see what has to be done and how. it will help you later on to do it this way and save you alot i will say it again a lot of time and money and heartache

Stuck rear brake caliper on 2003 road king after replacing brakes

Hi Anonymous, jack up bike so rear wheel is off the ground and can spin, bang the caliper on the outer half with a deadblow or rubber mallet 2 or 3 good wacks. Try and spin the wheel, if it spins check the rotor for warpage then check the brake pedal to make it works and is not locking up the rear wheel to where it won't spin freely. If it does lock up then your caliper pistons are cocked and need to be pushed all the way back into the bores and re-bleed the system. Good luck

Clutch tenion spring rubbing derby cover making rubbing sound.

If you've got anything rubbing the derby cover, you've got a real problem somewhere. Go to this site and look up your bike under OEM parts. http://www.bikebandit.com Stand the bike up fairly straight and take the derby cover off. Try to determine what is making the noise and get back with me. If your bike is a Road King or any other Big Twin, the clutch spring is a "diaphragm" type spring meaning it's a flat round disc spring. It's not a coil spring and nothing should be even near the derby cover. The only thing that I can possibly think of rubbing is the clutch adjuster screw lock nut may have come loose and worked it way out far enough to rub but I've never seen that happen because the clutch rotates the wrong way.

What is the torque specs for the gas tank top plate screws for 1999 Road King?

Just make em tight and dont strip em! Usally parts like this, that are not related to some real mechanical aspect of the vehicle dont have torque specs Motorcycles tend to give more torque specs than automobiles but, since this thing just hold some guages and what not, it just needs to stay on there. I don't have a Harley but, I've had dirt bikes all my life, and I have a honda xrl650 which I ride on the street now and the torque specs on the suspension and wheel components are the most important, to me anyway. Good Luck!
