Rejet the carbs and or lean it out or drop the carb float bowl and look for signs of fuel lacquering. If so buy a carb kit or leave it to a pro.

My 2007 Kymco 500 MXU starts and idles fine but when you hit the throttle it dies instantly. Ran fine then this all of sudden happened. It did sit for almost a year. Any idea's???

It may be as simple as a bad fuel filter. if the filter is plugged, you may get enough of fuel to idle car, But when giving it gas. there is not enough fuel reaching engine, to keep it running. Its worth a try! God-Bless!

Bike starts but idles rough, dies when its put in gear, the bike acts like it is not getting enough fuel, what could be the problem? also just changed fuel pump

you will have to find your idle mixture screw on the carburator and riching the mixture till the idles smooths out. Warm the motor up to operating temperature before adjusting.

Car starts fine idles fine wont rev up wants to stall if you give it gas

Could be the throttle position sensor, or low fuel pressure.

2003 yz 250 starts and idles but runs rich and bogs as soon as the throttle is applied

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Throttle cables misaligned or misrouted.
2. Damaged or restricted fuel tank venting system.
3. Intake system air leak.
4. Vacuum piston malfunction.
5. Accelerator pump leaking or no output.
6. Plugged bowl vent or overflow.
7. Fuel level in bowl too low.
8. Restricted fuel supply passages.
9. Plugged jets or passages.
10. Worn or damaged needle or needle jet.
11. The enrichner valve not seated or leaking.

I have a 96 yamaha virago xv250. It cranks, and idles fine. The problem is, once you start riding and get into first, you get about halfway down on the throttle and it's like the engine is dying out,...

It sounds to me like your main jet or high speed circuits could be plugged up in the carb(s) or you could have water in the fuel. If you are reasonably mechanically inclined, I would suggest removing the carbs and giving them a good cleaning. You might want to give it a fresh set of plugs and a new air and fuel filter while you are at it.

Hi,
You will need to have carbs cleaned out, especially if this gunk has got past the filter and into the fuel bowls of the carburetors.
\Sorry but it is the best next step to take to solve your engine performance issues.
Also have the tank cleaned out and the in-tank filter replaced as this problem will reoccur if the tank is not cleaned out also.
Hope this helps
