HELP requested on 2006 GSXR1000 K6 - I have a fan that does not come on at all - the bike even displays a warning on the dash I own a 2006 GSXR1000. the radiator fan does not come on and I have done the below to check for the cause. 1. removed the fan from the radiator and tested fan - OK. 2.located and checked fuses behind left side of fairing - OK 3.visually checked all wires and plugs - OK 4.unclipped temperature sender unit from the left side of the engine behind barrels - the temp display on the dash starts flashing FI CHECK - I suppose this means it is working. 5.i tried finding the location of a separate temperature/fan switch sender unit - I cannot find any other sender units. Where do I find the fan switch? Is it the same unit as the dash temp sender unit? Where do I find the relay for the fan? perhaps I am looking at a relay issue? Please, can someone kindly send me a link to a workshop manual OR email me a copy? or share one from a dropbox account? Please help me, guys. I bought this bike from a Numbscull and the more I remove from the bike the more issues I find. @

Hi. Check the bottom of the radiator or on the side, as you also have a temperature-sending switch. The switch must reach a certain temperature before sending a signal on to the fan relay.
The switch just screws into the radiator.
If you would like to contact me again about this or other problems, feel free to do so.

SOURCE: Electric fan on rad won't cycle.
just finished doing the exact task and i didnt find it to bad 1 hour, remove bullbar/bumper and i was able to remove with a 8mm socket ,angle drive and extension 1/4 drive.
make sure when you replace with new item you thoroughly clean surface before you put your new one on,relay has heat sinc and neads the car body cantact area to help absorb the heat,
If it is dirty and you dont clean it your new relay may overheat .
Also for all Chrysler jeep and dodge owners, PPPPlease stop supporting your local rip off dealer and look for alternatives , I use rockauto.com from america and are more than happy with price and delivery times 3-5 days and usually 1/3 the price unbelivable.
SOURCE: 2008 R1 cooling fan not
I have a 2002 ducati monster S4, it's fans come on at 212 degrees F, that is about 108 degrees C, They only come on in city traffic, and they have only come on twice in 8 years. Your coolant boils at 265F in a closed system, so depending on what the thermostat is set at, they are probably just getting ready to come on at 103. I kinda wish I had a switch that I could turn them on at any time, so it sounds like your bike is running normal, also, my bike runs at exactly 100 degrees hotter than the outside air temp, always. Hope this helps.

The code P0053 is for your Bank 1 Oxygen Sensor, the closest Oxygen Sensor to the engine, connected to the Exhaust. Replace your Oxygen Sensor, clear the code, and see if it comes back.
