If you have the same pulley arrangement that most 4.0 engines have that pulley is an idler not a tensioner. Your power steering pump has a pivot bolt, and a slide under the pump. You adjust belt tension using the pump.

How do i know if my 95 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 inline 6 is an interference engine

You have a timing chain that is good for the life of the engine. The only thing that could need replacing is the chain tensioner if it starts to make noise.

I need a diagram of the timing chain marks for a 2005 jeep grand cherokee 3.7L

You should have cylinder #1 at TDC, make sure the timing marks line up exactly then you just throw your belt on and you're good to go. You can't mess this up, the marks are clearly visible

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee timing belt/chain replacement (not 4WD)

I BELIEVE THAT IT HAS A TIMING CHAIN. IT SHOULD BE CHANGED AT OR ABOUT 100,000 MILE. BUT IT DOESN'T NECESSARILY NEED TO BE CHANGED THEN, JUST INSPECTED.

Does V6 Cherokee Larado have a timing chain or belt?

First off, if you have a 2004 Grand Cherokee with the 4.0 liter 6 cylinder engine, then it is an inline 6 rather than a V-6. To answer your question, it has a timing chain.

Do you need to change the timing chain on a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee at 75,000 miles?

You will not need to change a timing chain unless you know or suspect it to be bad. Belts and other material that wear down need to be changed but the timing chain itself is a metal similar to that of a bike chain but much shorter and thicker

Timing chain diagram

Just wrap the chain around the gears and lineup the dots. dot to dot and put them on. That's how it goes. The timing itself is not adjustable. It's controlled by the engines computer. It's that simple.

Need to replace timing chain for a straight 6 engine

I suggest the public library. I have found it to be a great resource. Haynes published a manual for 1993 to 1998 "all models" # 50025 or search at the library for ISBN # 1 56392 315 7

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0l timing chain problems

each gear has a mark on it from the factory that line up with a corrrsponding mark on the engine some times they are hard to find but if you look hard enough you will find them they all must line up there is no margin for error or it will not start like now good luck Lindz
