What would cause there to be no neutral on 2001 yamaha 2-stroke

What would cause there to be no neutral and the clutch to not engage on my 2001 yamaha yz250 2 stroke?

With the engine off, and you click the shifter into neutral, will the rear wheel turn?

2003 yamaha fazer 1000 clutch sensor problem?


Hi, Anonymous #7 is jumping up and down waving a red flag and the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty wiring to any safety switch.
2. Safety switches loose at the mounting point.
3. Faulty kickstand safety switch.
4. Failed kickstand safety switch circuit diode.
5. Stretched side stand spring.
6. Side stand not coming up far enough to disengage switch.
7. Faulty clutch lever safety switch.
8. Faulty neutral safety switch.
9. Clutch not properly adjusted.
10. Clutch plates sticking, forward lurch

2001 Yamaha XJR 1300 hard to find neutral when running


Hi, Stephen and the usual suspects are:
1. Clutch dragging slightly.
2. Primary chaincase overfilled with lubricant.
3. Corners wore off shifter clutch dogs.
4. Shifter return spring bent or broken.
5. Bent shifter rod.
6. A loose shift lever on shifter shaft.
7. Shifter forks sprung.
8. Shifter pawl needs adjusting.
9. Heel/toe shifter coming in contact with the floorboard.
10. Transmission oil too heavy.

sounds like your clutch plates are worn or theres not enough gear oil which is making it hard to engage while at running temperture

Drain and replace the gas with fresh.
Remove the air cleaner and spray carb cleaner into the inlet. Work your throttle a little then put everything back together and try to start it.

What oil should i have in yz 125 2 stroke


The clutch and gearbox share the same oil. The oil for the motor is 10w40. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil, Yamalube or Shell.
