My bike a 2004 shadow aero will not start in the morning sometimes it will if i spray carb cleaner in the intake inside the air box i just had the carb cleaned and the vac hose replaced and valves adj

Have the plugs been replaced? Fouled plugs can cause this condition. All carburetors cause more difficult starts in the cold, because they need a richer fuel mixture. An intake leak can also cause hard starting because it leans out the air/fuel mixture.

Start with the plugs first since you didn't mention those. Here is a handy reference for standard NGK plugs.

After you get the bike started, spray some WD-40 around the carburetor intake manifold seals. If the RPMs change, you have an intake leak.

Hope this helps.

I recently changed the oil on my 2005 Honda Shadow 750 Aero, the next day riding home from work my bike died as if it was not getting gas. It immediately fired back up and I began to ride home, it happened...

If you have a fuel pump, that could be the problem. If the pump is not working, only 1 cylinder will get some fuel. Maybe water came into electrical part of the pump and shot the fuse, just check the pump operation.

2002 honda vt 750 shadow spirit one cylinder won't fire what's the problems

Pull the plug out and test it on the frame. If no spark you need new plugs. If it does spark look at the plug. If the plug is black and wet it is getting to much fuel and flooding. You will need to adjust your carb's air to gas mixture.

My 1998 honda ace is poping when i get on the gas

Could be a carb problem or a firing problem. Use a inline spark plug tester to check the fire on both cylinders to make sure spark is there. Afterward, use a spray bottle with water in it,and spray the plug wires with bike running. If it arcs,or starts running rough, needs plug wires. If neither of these are the issue, then most likely you have carb problems, and they will need to come off,be cleaned and synched.

2002 Honda Shadow 750 accelerator problem, having problem acceleratoring changed plugs, drained gas

Hello did those old spark plugs look when you removed them? Were they black and fouled looking or more of a light brown or grey color? By learning to "read" the appearance of your spark plugs you can get a good idea of what kind of fuel mixture you have. These bikes do not like an ethanol fuel blend....Have you made any modifications to the exhaust or the air intake systems?
Check for vacuum leaks around the carb mounts and cylinder heads...Check your charging system, with a volt meter you should have 13.5 to 14.5vdc at the battery at 2000 RPM. Terminals all clean & tight...double check ground connection at frame for corrision. A good electrical system is important for a hot spark at the plugs. Drain the float bowls, pitcocks and inspect hoses for any restrictions. Synchronise the carburetors, this is probably the most overlooked and neglected thing riders do on multi-carb bikes. That's pretty much all the basic areas to troubleshoot... carb adjustments will be the last thing to do and will be included in synchronising.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask more questions if needed and good luck with your Shadow.

The front cylinder on my 83 honda shadow 750 doesnt seem to be fireing it has new plugs its getting spark, is it possibale that only on cylinder is getting gas? i take the plugs off when the bike is...

the carbs need to be cleaned out, the front carb has a stopped up low speed jet. If you have already cleaned them then they need to be synchronized. Cleaning means removal and dis-assembly, you cannot get to the jets by spraying cleaner in the air intake.

Mis firing on my 2000 Honda ace.

Carbs. Need to remove and fully clean the carbs. This is a task best left to dealer unless you fully understand motorcycle carbs. Lots of small little parts and pieces to lose.

Just purchasted my Shadow and it seems to be only firing on one cylinder at idle. the bike was not run for 5 or 6 months. It will backfire when rev'd and the other cylinder will kick in spiraticly. Any...

Gas could be old, but it sounds more like you are losing spark to that cylinder at low rpm. Try a new spark plug, they're cheap. If that doesn't help, you could have a particle clogging the pilot jet of that carburetor. The pilot jet only works until you throttle it above idle. If it's clogged with a little junk, it will make bike idle terribly. Try spraying some carb cleaner through it (the one not running) with the engine on, and see if it likes the addition of fuel to that one cylinder. THis will tell you if you're lean on that jug. Good luck. Let me know. TT

Not hitting on all cylinders 1999 honda shadow 750 with 5000 mile

HI harleyrider6,
No hitting means not firing?
Assuming tht its not firing up upon cranking,
please check if theres gas coming to the spark plugs and sparks too.
Not a bad idea to replace the spark plugs if they are fouled up!

Good luck.
