Hello Donna, I'm going to make a couple assumptions and provide an answer to your question. My assumptions are that your engine is an Evolution and the oil pump is stock Harley or, at least, has the same look and oil flow as tbe stock pump.
If you look at the (installed) pump from the rear of the bike, it will have 2 lines. The line on the left connects to the oil filter for pumping oil thru the filter before it is returned to the reservoir. The line on the right is connected to the oil reservoir and is the feed for oil to the pump.

Follow the hose that goes to the frame from the oil tank. Loosen the clamp and pull.
SOURCE: oil blow out the breather
An overfull oil tank will do it. Even if not overfull just about all harley's will blow oil out the air filter. Unless there is a bunch of oil coming out, it's not a problem What I've found is that the air filter eventually gets saturated and then starts to leak through. The level in the oil tank doesn't seem to matter. If you change the air filter the problem goes away, until the new one gets saturated and then it starts all over again. My plan is to get a K&N air filter, which you can clean yourself and save having to buy a new air filter every 4,000 miles or so.
SOURCE: oil drain plug
its not a plug its a hose look under the tank on the pipe side, look for the hose thats goes to the bottom frame rail (tube) thats the drain hopes this helps
SOURCE: oil blow out the breather
This is a common problem on all sportsters, they have an oil blow by that dumps it into the air filter. I have found that if I run about a half quart low the problem goes away.
SOURCE: what type of motor oil used in 1994 harley davidson 883
harley recomends that you use their oil but i would be carefull because it is a cynthetic now if you were using regular oil what that will do is clean all the old build up out of the motor this can be bad because after time there are pin hole leaks that occure but the build up stops it from leaking but if you use cynthetic you cant go back to regular oil it will gum up on you and ruen your motor so you got to find out what has been put in it. but use a 10-30
