The E-1 error usually indicates that the test strip is damaged or improperly inserted. Try removing the test strip and replacing it. Try a different test strip. Open a new box of test strips and try using one from the new box.

I recomend you a very cheap (1$ us) usefull tool (check youtube for universal mobile phone battery charger)which can used for the most common accu. You only have to take out the accu from your phone justify the two needles on the ubit to the two outer pin on the accu, load it. The new generation do even have an usb connection. Makes it easier again, if you allready have the right cable.

in order to get basics you need to know how to run the optic, i suggest you download this and read it, and start practicing. or find the users manual on your scope to figure how to work your elevation, windage, and rectify paralax.
