How to change spark plug where are they located at

Your spark plugs can be located in 2 different locations.
1 if your engine is sitting front to back of the vehicle your plugs will be located on the drivers side and the passengers side of the vehicle.
2 if your engine is set from one wheel well to the other than your spark plugs will be located on the front of the engine ( front towards the bumper/grill.) and next to the firewall.

4.6L, 5.4L & 6.8L Engines
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the coil on plugs as outlined under Ignition Coil in this section.

  3. Remove the spark plugs.
  4. Inspect the spark plugs
  5. Adjust the spark plug gap as necessary. Proper gap is 0.52–0.56 in. (1.32–1.42mm).

installation.
  1. Install the spark plugs and tighten them to 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm) for 4.6L and 5.4L SOHC engines. For 5.4L DOHC and 6.8L engines, tighten the spark plugs to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  2. Install the coil on plugs.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.

How to change spark plugs on a 2005 vstar 1100

2005 V-Star 1100 Classic - Spark plugs

While someone may be able to change SP's w/o removing the gas tank, most normal humans will find doing so impossible. Removing the tank is easy. Here are the steps/tips for changing your SP's

1. remove the passenger seat - 1 screw at the rear and pull toward the rear of bike.
2. remove rider's seat - 2 screws and pull the toward rear of the bike.
3. turn gas valve to off; some gas will leak during the next steps, so have a wad of paper towels or your wife's best nighty to sop up the gas (maybe a tablespoon).
4. pinch the hose clamp that secures the gas hose to the gas valve body and slide the clamp away from the valve body stem.
5. pry the hose from the gas body stem; I used a very slim flat screwdriver. This is where you mop up the gas.
6. remove the two screws at the rear base of the gas tank; ALSO - there is a small black plastic connector on the front side of the battery case that connects the tank to the battery case. The head is round, about the size of a nickel. Push the center pin in the head of this connector down a bit with an allen wrench, for example. Then, pull the connector up and out. S/B easy. If you drop it into the chassis guts, good luck.
7. slide the tank toward the rear of the bike. Easy! There is an electrical cable between the bike chassis and the tank, so you cannot, or need not, "remove" the tank to the floor or workbench. I "balanced" the tank across the chassis over the battery box and secured it in place with some bungee cords. Secure the tank as it will slide off.
8. Tip: the rear SP is on the right side of the bike as you sit on it. The front SP is on the left side of the front cylinder.
9. Remove both plastic head covers, one over the rear SP and one over the front SP, pulling straight out away from the bike. They are held by rubber grommets only, but they were not easy for me to pull out. They are plastic, so if you pry them, be careful! Yamaha probably charges $50 for a new one (cost to mfg = 17 cents).
10. use the SP socket and the box end wrench in the bike's tool kit to remove the plugs. It's a bit tricky, but not bad.

Putting it all back together is not bad. I did it and am not a mechanic. Just take your time. Doing it yourself will probably save you $60 or more. Good NGK plugs at the auto parts store were $2.50 each. Probably $6.95 at the Yamaha dealer.

Removed my spark plug wires and changed them out out on my 91' ford f-150 but forgot how they go back and dont have a diagram

if the distributor hasnt been modified, then find # 1 on the distributor cap and plug wires in this order:18456273 and #1 cylinder starts on the passenger side in the front and the order on the cylinders is 1234 on the passengers side starting from the front of the engine and 5678 on the drivers side starting from the front of the engine,if the distributor has been taken out and turned at 1 time then put the crank on 0 degrees and pull off the distributor cap and locate where the rotor points,if it faces towards the rear of the engine then go ahead and follow the firing order i provided,if it faces towards the front of the engine then the crank is off 180 degrees so you would want to start the #1 plug wire exactly the opposite side of the distributor, then go clockwise with the firing order.

I replaced my spark plug wires on my 1996 chevy truck. may have crossed one, need a diagram from the spark plugs to the distributer cap.

Since you didn't state whether it is a V6 or V8, I'll give you both.

V6 -4.3Liter
Firing Order is 1-6-5-4-3-2
Distributor rotor turns Clockwise
Number 1 spark plug tower on distributor cap, faces the front of the engine.

->Drivers side, spark plug order in engine, starting from the Front going back:
1-3-5
->Passenger side, spark plug order in engine,
starting from the Front going back:
2-4-6

If it's Electronic, the distributor cap has a Left side, (Drivers side), and a Right side, (Passenger side)
Starting from the Front, going back on the Left side,
3-1-5
Starting from the Front going back on the Right side,
2-4-6

V8-5.0, 5.7, and 7.4Liter
Firing Order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
Distributor rotor turns Clockwise
Number 1 spark plug tower on distributor cap,
faces Front, towards the Drivers side.

Electronic distributor cap has two sides. Drivers, (Left), side and Passenger, (Right), side.
Starting from Front going back on Drivers side,
1-7-3-5
Starting from Front going back on Passenger side,
8-2-4-6

Spark plug order in engine, starting from Front going back, Drivers side:
1-3-5-7
Spark plug order in engine, starting from Front going back, Passenger side:
2-4-6-8

Need spark plug wiring sequence, 1985 toyota corolla 1600 2 door hatchback, rear wheel drive

With the 2T-C, 3T-C, and 3K-C engines the Firing Order is 1-3-4-2
The distributor rotates ->Clockwise. (The rotor actually)

Number 1 spark plug tower on the distributor cap, faces directly towards the engine. Number 2 faces the back of the engine, Number 4 faces the front of the engine, Number 3 is to the outside away from the engine.

Number 1 spark plug is at the front of the engine. 1-2-3-4

With the 4A-C engine, and other A-Series, the Firing Order is 1-3-4-2
The distributor rotates ->CounterClockwise.

Number 1 spark plug tower is towards the engine, and faces the back of the engine. Number 3 spark plug tower is away from the engine, and faces the back of the engine.
Number 2 spark plug tower is towards the engine, and faces the front.
Number 3 spark plug tower is away from the engine, and faces the front.

Bike wont start

I posted this for a similar problem, maybe it can help. Are you sure it's getting gas to the carbs? Some people don't realize the 99-02 SV650 has a vacuum-actuated fuel pump, and sometimes it can get stuck. Mine has had this problem, and it took me a while to determine it was the problem. I would guess it only happens after the bike has been sitting a while (ours unfortunately sat for a year or so without being run).

Best way to check it is to lift the tank (it's bolted to the frame on the right side of the engine just under the tank). Unplug the line toward the front of the motorcycle from the fuel pump, and connect some spare fuel hose to it running to a can next to the bike (don't want to get gas everywhere!). With everything else still connected, crank the bike for a short period to see if any fuel comes out (shouldn't take long). If not, then move backward and ensure fuel will flow from the vacuum-petcock when the bike is cranked. If that does work, your fuel pump needs some work. I was able to take mine apart and unstick it.
