Check that the actuator is releasing at the gearbox end!
as it could be loose or the shaft is binding up!
otherwise clutch needs stripping down & inspecting thrusts & friction plated for wear & burn marks[heat blueing] & that the metal plates are not warped!
also the pressure plate speings ma be week & all not equal tension
Cheers rob.

Gear box goin in to gear but still like it is in nutural

If you select a gear without pulling clutch in it will grind and stall.
If you are certain the bike is engaging a gear and still seems it is in neutral, your clutch drive is broken.
Alternatively, the gear selecter fork bolts maybe loose behind the sidecover, allowing selector to partially engage only and return to neutral. Try selection thru' higher gears, place bike on a stand and turn back wheel in gear, if gears turn and motor doesn't...it is the clutch. If you cannot select a gear proper with rear wheel turning, your selecter is suspect.
Goodluck, and Cheers.

Trident 900 - No Acceleration

The only times my 'dent had no acceleration, it wasn't firing on all 3. Easy check: start the bike, let it idle for a couple minutes, spray water from a spray bottle on each header. Chances are, there'll be a cold header from a cylinder not firing due to a bad coil.

Cannot engage transmission from first to second gear

Usually this is a linkage problem, and most often the rubber lined coupling between two rods in the linkage system. This fails as the rubber ages, and when it does you are unable to select some or all gears, and might be stuck in one gear!

Not too difficult to re and re, and part is available from Saab dealer at reasonable cost.

Coupling may be located inside the car, under the console, ahead of the gear lever housing, or on the other side of the firewall
