Question about 1984 Honda VT 500 C Shadow
I have checked water levels-all good. Battery is good every time checked and is charging. Bike starts with little to no trouble while cold, but when it gets hot, it wants to die unless rpms are elevated. It dies, won't crank back, but I can often pop the clutch to get it going again.
It does have an oil leak. I am working on getting it fixed, but I am keeping oil in it until it's fixed.
Any suggestions please?
Your honda shadow 500 over heats, because the oil cant room around the engine of the bike.the problem is the worn out destroyed oil seal .Check and replace the oil seal of your bike.

The resistor on the ends of one or more of your plug wires are bad should read about 5K ohms from one end to the other.I had the same trouble.
