Whats the firing order for a 1990 Kawasaki 600 zx ninja.

The ZX6, as with most four-cylinder motorcycle engines, is mounted transversely in the frame. When sitting on the bike, the cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4 left to right.

Firing Order: the firing order is 1-2-4-3. There is no distributor for the engine, as ignition is controlled electronically.

Extra Ignition Information: there are only two ignition coils for this engine. Each coil has two spark plug wires. One coil fires cylinders 1 and 4. The other fires cylinders 2 and 3

WHAT IS THE SPARK PLUG ORDER FOR A KAWASAKI NINJA 900 1985

Left coil feeds 1 and 4...right coil feeds 2 and 3...as long as you stick to this it doesn't matter which lead goes to which plug. Left coil will have one short lead and one long...short =1...long = 4. Right coil leads will be about even in length...doesn't matter which goes to 2 or 3.
It's a wasted spark system so plugs 1 and 4 fire together...2 and 3 fire together...only 1 cylinder in each pair will be compressed and ready to fire when the spark happens, the other will be empty and coming on to it's inlet stroke...

i am just doing a gpz that was running rough and the coil was cracked in 2 places i bought a second hand one from a bike wrecker and if that was no good i could exchange it for another this is a common fault with the gpz,or you could try ebay but you cant take it back if it is no good,or buy a new one from the dealer which are very expensive,so try a bike wrecker cheers pete

Misfire causing back fire turn over but no start what could be the problem?

Have you changed the HT leads recently./ Sounds like they are on the wrong way round and not with the correct firing order causing the engine to not catch and not start but misfire as it is trying to to start the wrong cylinder at the wrong time.

Vote for me if this helps. Thanks.

Have a 1986 kawasaki ninja 600 i had the carbs rebuilt. now the problem is it turns over but wont start not sure what the firing order is?

not sure what the firing order is, but check to see if you have a spark at the plugs, and if you do then its probably a fuel delivery problem, then check the petcock and fuel tank vent... assuming the carbs were done correctly.

What would cause a motorcycle not to start

Sounds like you've diagnosed it yourself, champ. If you've got power to the coils but nothing coming out... then you'll need to get new coils!
