Hm that makes alot of sense. I filled it up for the first time today and noticed shortly after that this tube was hanging beneath my bike. MaybeE I did fill it up a bit to much. This is my first bike so I dont have much experience. Is it supposed to be hannging there , or should it be tucked away in some sort of way?

Thanks for the help! It might of just moved from the wind hitting it or something , it is a pencil sized purple tube that showed up when i filled my tank up. Its not hitting the ground but it is visible , should i just check and see if there is somewhere where i should tuck it away near the engine? The bike is water cooled so im hoping it is not anything dealing with that? Thanks again for your help.

Most likely a drain tube for either battery, or most likely the drain for any spilled fuel when filling the tank. If you overfill the tank the excess fuel should be directed beneath the bike by a drain hose connected to the filler spout.

It should be hanging just below the engine etc... Just so any overfill of gas hits the ground and not surrounding hardware. As well the battery or battery case may also have a vent tube again coming out the bottom. All vent tubes are usually about the size of a pencil "give or take" .

Don't worry about it, it should be visible if you are "looking for it" just not hanging down too far so it is unsightly. It won't have anything to do with your cooling system as you will see a few larger heater hose style rubber hoses going to your radiator from the engine. Check where your fuel filler is and you should see a hole in the housing and may even see the other end of this hose. As well check the battery and see if the vent tube is the same color as the one you are seeing hanging down. Good luck and enjoy your ride..

This tube is for you to bleed your carb bowl only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This tube works when you need to drain out the bowl from water within. I own a Qlink Legacy 250 and can give advice first hand to you about it.

2007 kawasaki Ninja 250r Cranks but wont startt

It sounds like the float needle valves are lletting gas run into the bowl,in turn running gas into the motor, and fouling the spark plugs. Have you noticed if the oil level seems to be going UP,or the fuel level is going down? Kawasaki motorcycles are prone to leaking needle valves in the carbs for some reason. And the longer it sits, the worse its going to get.Try this,...pull the spark plugs and see if they are wet with fuel. Then, unhook the coils, and spin the motor over with the plugs out.If it shoots raw fuel about a foot out of each or ANY cylinder, then that is your problem. JUST BE SURE TO DISABLE THE COILS BEFORE SPINNING MOTOR OVER,AND DONT BE CLOSE TO THE PLUG HOLES WHEN YOU SPIN IT OVER!!
Good Luck!

My transmission on my 2001 flhrci suddenly started leaking. don't notice leakage when bike is upright

Clean all oil from the bike exterior. Leave it sitting in an upright position for a period of time. This may require a bike lift or other such device. Then look for leak source. Make sure oil level is not too high. When changing oil it often gets on the cross member and may leak when on the jiffy satnd for a while until it is all gone from this area. Make sure to always use thread sealant and a good o-ring on the drain plug.

Not getting any hot water. Pilot light and burner seem to be working properly. Went from working fine in morning to not working at all this evening.

No hot water anywhere,or just one faucet, doesn't sound right if burner is working,if its coming on then your gas valve/thermostat on front is not working properly. Can be changed, but I would turn up temp. red dial see if she fires and watch to see if she stays on.Gas valve is threaded in and can be changed, depending on warranty.Could also be dip tube is cracked or broken in half, its a tube that forces cold water to bottem of tank,if not working you'll get a real short shower because cold water is in top of tank.Tube can be replaced, its on the cold water fill side which would have to be taken apart.Thinking now its your tube

96 Honda Accord won't start.

Check three things:
1. Oil is being "siphoned" by the flow of air when you drive (like a whistle)
Is the oil dipstick missing? or hanging out a little?
2. There may be too much oil in the crankcase. Turn OFF engine, clean oil dipstick and then check oil level. Too much oil will be drawn onto the engine.
3. The rubber seal around the PCV valve is compromised. Replace PCV valve ($6 AutoZone)

Questions: When you try to start the engine, what does it do?
nothing?
click?
the starter spins?
Do headlights stay ON when you try to start?

Bike won't start -- loose tube on carburetor

and it won't start! Doesn't seem like anything is happening at all. Got the fuel switch ON the ignition is turned on the starter switch is on bike is in neutral, and then I hit the electric starter and nothing happens at all. Silent as a hall. Kickstart won't seem to do anything either. What on earth could this be? Also, I noticed what has now been my THIRD loose tube on the bike. I understand there are supposed to be one or two, apparently, but I just noticed a third loose tube. It's the tube that's hooked up to something on the carb right beneath the CHOKE switch. The other end of that tube isn't connected to anything at all -- and this is the first time I've noticed it like that, which seems to mean it must've been hooked up to something at one point. Can anybody help me out? I had serious riding plans this weekend that are going to be turned into serious riding dreams unless I can get this bike running. Could it be the battery? And why would the battery be dead if this is a brand-new bike? And what the heck is that loose tube on the side of the carburetor??, Always try the simple stuff first. No matter what the problem actually is, you may never find it if you don't take care of the basics. For anything to work you must have electricity. Check the fuse. It is in the left tool case. Even if it LOOKS OK replace it with a new one. Then check the battery fluid. Top off if necessary. Put a 2 amp or less charger on it and walk away for 2 or 3 hours. When you come back check as many connectors as you can find around the battery and in the headlight housing. Now try to start the bike. If it now turns over then that problem is fixed and you can go on to things like the spark plug. The hoses on the carb are for vent / over flow. Do NOT hook them up to anything. It will affect carburation. ,,,
