A 2003 model with only 50 miles?? Wow....well,since youve already taken the carb apart and cleaned it,did you hook up the vaccum line for the VOES switch on the intake manifold? If so,..when you get the bike running,..spray some brake clean around the intake where it bolts to the heads. If the idle picks up,or starts to sputter,..youve got leaking intake gaskets. Which is a good possibility on a bike that old with that few miles on it.The choke essentailly adds more fuel to the motor, and by what your saying, the bike is obviously running lean. Also,...im ASSUMING that you have fresh gas in it,and the petcock is turned on.

carb still not clean. sounds like low speed, pilot or fuel screw still not 100% backfiring because it is too lean. wouldn't ride too much uncorrected as it will make engine run hot

dont move the needle position, hopefully you drained all the old gas, get a can of carb cleaner at the parts store, remove bowl plug under carbs stick nozzle up and spray, should be a idle adjustment screw under carbs turn 1/2 turn, also when you go to to the parts store get a can of fuel injector cleaner and marvel myster oil and put in tank. then take bike for a nice long ride

I let my bike sit for asbout 3 years and now it wont stay on

The pilot jets are still gummed up. This jet controls the idle port and usually gets overlooked. To clean it the jet must be removed along and the adjusting screw as well. The circuit must be cleared of gum. For each individual carb, when removing the jet and the adjuster, count the turns then remount that number of turns. Now turn the adjuster screw 1/4 turn counter clockwise.

Wont run /idle

i'd start with removing the carbs and giving them a thorough cleaning as when bikes sit for so long, the carbs begin to get gummy/varnished from the old gas.

check for blocked holes in the pilot jet & main jet and look for "hard & dried up" gas in passages. be careful of the float bowl gasket as to not tear it or you will need a replacement.

Yamaha TTR 125 L won't idle

this is very tipical. when bikes are stored the fuel varishes up the jets & needles. soak the carb. moving it back and forth in the soak solution. then blow every jet and orfice with a controlled air source. note: any speck of rust or dirt can plug these jets. pay attention to detail and do every thing twice. then install the carb and adjust it to your riding style. later Spike

Wont start without choke

I am having a similiar problem. bmw r 1100 s will only start with full choke and will die if I cut off choke or give it any throttle. This is my first bike and it has been sitting in a garage for 2 years. I took out the carbs, cleaned them and rebuilt them. I didn't find any residual in the carbs and they were very clean. Today, I was able to get the bike running and took it down the neighborhood but after the bike warms up it idles at 6K! Man... If I can't find any answers from this forum, I will probably drop it off at the motorcycle shop just down the hill from me. Any suggestions anyone? I think I will try to drain the fuel and give it new gas. But still....
