Apache rlx300 wont start spitting back through carb

Quad was working just fine. was out riding for hours stopped for some lunch and then when I tried to start it nothing, just wont go and is now trying to spit back through the carb. Checked timing had side case off and cam cover everything lines up. took plug out and compression feels good. even fitted another CDi unit from another 300 still no start. It's behaving like the timing has slipped but how? Any ideas?

Thanks heeman done all that already. Have found that the plastic mount between carb rubber and head has shattered the piece that has 2 O rings one has burst out so it must have done a big backfire though the inlet to do this damage. I'm now thinking bent inlet valve gonna borrow a compression tester tomorrow before pulling the head

Check spark, timing from side case side, then swap spark plug, try to bypass spark cap, then check flow of petrol to carb, clean carb and allow to cool if needed.Sometimes a coil just dies for no apparent reason..The last resort is to swap the coil inside the side case...

I have a small 4wheeler that is hard to start and will not idle it will run at speed but if you stop it doesn't idle it dies

Your pilot jet in the carb is plugged up or to small you will have to pull the carb out and clean it if you have a wire brush you can use 1 of the needles off it that will fit in the tiny hole in the pilot jet push it through and then spay carb cleaner through it and the main jet put back together and it should run fine

Quad wont start unless jump starting from a car

ok buddy to start it you need 12 volts and you need the amps there because in a car battery theres 80 amps which will easily turn it over but dont keep attempting this as the wires will melt due to the power passing through them a lot and the carb problem is due to mixture on the carb is a mixture screw turn this all the way in and unscrew 1 1/2 turns out and try this also run a mix off 40:1 bbd2d5f.jpg

Quad bike keeps cutting out

ALWAYS have a fire extinguisher on hand when working on carburetors.
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).

Drain the carburetor. There may be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the idle screw and the air screw on the outside throat of the
carb and spray into the screw holes as well.
< < READ CLOSELY > >
Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward. Before putting the slide back in the throat of the carb, move the clip on the jet needle one notch lower. Put the rest of the
carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!
