Hey Gary,on my old ex police '88 fxrp i think there was an o ring and an indent around the steel part of the end of the cable that a screw went across to hold it from pulling out.pull the fill (allen cap) open,if you dont have an allen that big get a bolt head that fits upside down in it and put 2 nuts together on its threads to unscrew the filler to the tranny, look in with a flashlite.if you end up having to pull the outer cover where the speedo cable goes in to get the job done, ride both tires up on top of a couple of boards or the bike really leans over on the kickstand and you wont loose any fluid, but turn off the fuel so it doesnt flood the engine with gas from the severe angle and flow past the rings into the engine case which would thin out the oil and hurt your pocket down the road later.good luck, wallace

If you check the front wheel there should be a retaining bolt that holds the unit to the hub.

How do i replace 92 super glide speedometer ? cant get the odometer reset arm out, to get the unit out of the consol

There is a small screw in the center of the knob. If the screw head is worn or damaged, then the only option is to break the knob to remove to speedo. This is easily done with a pliers.

Why would the back brakes lock up on a 92 fxr lowrider

Sounds like caliper seized. Remove, clean, rebuild, and bleed the old brake fluid making sure to use what Harley recommends. If you don't want to rebuild, you can buy a new one fairly cheap, then bleed the air and old brake fluid out.

What type of oil filter for a Huskee 22 ton log splitter with a 190cc briggs & stratton engine?

Filter #s

Fram 1653A
Napa 1553
Cross 1A9023
Baldwin BT839
Wicks 51553

Kd460, here are some crossover part#s for a replacement filter for your Speeco splitter. To answer your other question, yes hydraulic fluid will pour out when you unscrew the filter. You can drain the entire tank first in to a clean container and then re-use the oil or you can put a container under the filter and then change the filter quickly. The fluid caught by the container can then be poured back in to the unit.

I have a 1993 fxr super glide. Can I replace head gaskets without removing engine from frame?

you should be able to replace the head gaskets on your evo without removing the whole engine. If you have never done engine work like this before, I would advise purchasing a service manual from harley that will walk you through step by step. I did the same on my 92 softail, which also doesn't give a lot of room the remove the rear top rocket box. Hope this helps.

Is there a difference in 1987lowrider fxlr and fxr, flr,or other models of87'lowriders and how do you tell ? The model and year options on this site don't allow me to put my actual year and model it's title...

The FLR is Harley's big twin designated by the "F". It has the big front end on it with the fat tire designated by the "L". Those Harley's with the narrow front tire are designated by an "X". The "R" usually stands for "rubber mounted engine". So your bike sounds like it would be a Big Twin bike with the large tires front and rear and a rubber mounted engine very much like a Police Bike. But, a Police Bike carries a "P" designator.

Do a search online for the "Harley Alphabet". This should clear up most of your questions.

93 FXR Rear tire rubs belt guard w/axle centered.

Try just bending the belt guard or removing it and fileing some material off the guard so it does not rub. You may also be able to remedy this by adding washers to the belt guard attach points.

92 buick front end wobble

if it is a belt in the tire, when you slide your hand over the tire you would feel a bulge that feels like a air bubble. if not than you need to have them check the wheel bearing and the power steering rack.

hope this helped
please rate well.

I don't see a question here... You know what's bent... Replace it, and have the front end aligned after you're done!!! Replacing is just a take it out, put a new one back in. No tricks etc!!!
Good luck
