Belts are useed to connect one shaft to another and not to pull anything
so what are you driving from the motor
is it a v section pully drive , multiple v belt pulley drive
may be a lot more details will get a better reply
what is the motor being used for what is the 250 lbs--is it a pull as in a winch . a lift as in a hoist or ,what?

Hi, Jay the answer to this question is way above my pay grade for this situation, I would call or visit my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry.
Good luck and have a wonderful day.

Honda 5.5hp motor

Honda motors are 4 stroke motors so I would be checking if you have put 2 stroke mix in the fuel tank and that is the oil smoke problem. IF you are running straight petrol then there is a problem with the oil ring unless you have over filled the sump.

My Model # 362 Belt sander keeps breaking belts after just a few minutes of continued use. Why?

This is usually indicative of someone pushing down on the sander too hard while sanding. The motor in this sander is strong enough to pull the belt around even with too much pressure on the sander. This causes excessive heat to build in the sanding belt and sander shoe which causes the belt to break down prematurly. It's also very hard on the sander's bearings and motor. Use an appropriate sandpaper grit that will do the job without excessive pressure on the worksurface. This will make your sanding belts and sander work longer and cooler.

Detailed steps in timing belt changing on 1992 civic1.5

We cannot stress this enough: Be careful! Make sure you know where the timing marks are on your engine, and that you have them set up properly with No. 1 cylinder at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke before attempting to replace the timing belt.

Why? 1) That interference engine thing again; and 2) Every camshaft and crankshaft on planet Earth is indexed to No. 1 TDC. If you try to remove and replace the timing belt with the engine in any other position, chances are good you'll throw things out of time. Then you'll get confused and have to pull off the valve cover as you try to determine when No. 1's valves are closed (which begins the compression stroke) in order to re-index the engine. Get your marks lined up right the first time.
